Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Ashley Judd had a run there with Kiss the Girls, High Crimes, Double Jeopardy, Bug and a couple rom-coms.  She did alright for a while.  Her and Natalie Portman made a nice team in Where the Heart Is, also.  Sally Field was in that, Stockard Channing, and Joan Cusack.  Really good female cast in that one.

I'm nervous for Natalie after this baby, getting her career back ala Reese.

Just when she had started to open some doors, make that, kick doors in, now she'll be on hiatus for a while.

Penelope Cruz can carry a movie, and do it well.

I love Hepburn but I dislike watching Breakfast at Tiffanys, the book is so much better and different.

I haven't read the book but Capote wanted Marilyn Monroe for the film, and disliked it as well.

We forgot Jodie Foster

clear top billing in silence of the lambs, contact, and panic room.
I hate her but she is great.

And in regards to Mila, she's got the potential to become really special. Jake Gyllenhall once called Natalie Portman the modern day Audrey Hepburn, but in reality, that nod goes to Mila Kunis. She has the cuteness, likeability, and bratty silliness necessary to take over any film.

Also, I'm with you CP, Reese Witherspoon is an excellent actress that doesn't get enough credit because of the roles she chose early in her career. She might not be lead material right now, but with the right script she could most definitely make noise as a supporting actress and possibly get herself an Academy nod.

Edit: Forgot about Cruz, I like her a lot. And another actress to look out for in the future is Dakota Fanning. As long as she doesn't get all cracked out like Lindsay, she's gonna have a very special career. I'm also gonna throw Mary-Kate Olson's name out there solely for her performance in The Wackness and Weeds. She's not anywhere near as good as the other women mentioned thus far, but she has done an excellent job portraying a free spirit.

I understand your concern, but I think we need not worry about Natalie. She's far too talented and far too in demand to take a nose dive.

We will be seeing Natalie for a verrrrrrrrrry (hopefully) long time.

Not if she takes 3 years off we won't.  Hence my concern.  Reese was in high demand too, and at the top of her career, and she took time off and poof, gone just like that.  Out of sight, out of mind world we live in.  Natalie was FIRE after Black Swan, does 2-3 quick films right after, and goes away for 3 years, that demand will be gone.  I just hope, she doesn't take 3 full years is all I'm sayin.  I hope she gets back to work quick.

Fanning to me Johnny could be a lot like Dunst.  I thought Dunst was gonna have a great career after she started with Interview With a Vampire, the little girl that grows up had been pulled off before with Reese (Man on the Moon), and Bring it On was perfect teenage movie to get her started, Suicide Virgins was yet another showcase, and then Crazy Beautiful was a nice idea, but as my wife says, I don't think she was acting in that movie, I think she really was that disgusting.

Spiderman brought her back for a minute, and now she's dead, so to speak.

I hope, that Fanning doesn't follow that same path as Dunst.  She really let me down.

I've been expecting you.  I still need to see that movie you recommeneded with Mulligan, I will try and catch that sometime in August if I can.  I liked her in Wall Street 2, and Gatsby is coming up, that may propell her a bit I imagine.

And co-sign with Linney, she can certainly act, but her age is gonna start hurtin her here soon.  But her performances in Primal Fear and The Life of David Gale were both great, and very underrated.  I haven't watched any of her new show, but I imagine she kills it.

Bonnie Hunt is someone that doesn't get a lot of recognition, but she is extremely witty/funny.  Her few moments in Jerry Maguire stole the show.  Elen Barkin in a similar level, without the humor as well deserves attention.

And @#$% Michelle Pfeifer was THEE actress there for a number of years.  How could I forget her?

Highly recommended.

I love Portman, Williams, Adams and Stone (Emma), as well.

There is someone else I'm forgetting. Been trying to figure it out for 20 minutes. It isn't Julianne Moore, but she is another one.

I love that girl.  She doesn't really like Hollywood I don't think, so she stays to herself in terms of her career, doesn't take roles to get famous, just does what she likes.  But that girl got skills.

Anyone mention Benning?
