Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Top theater experiences:
Gravity in 3D
The Revenant in 3D
Gladiator/Matrix/Lord of the Rings for sheer wonder
American Pie (seen 5x in theatres)*
City of God (seen 3x theatres)*
*had to keep bringing friends to the theatre for these 2

Independence Day
Infinity War
Engame
The Dark Knight
Matrix

*Cap America 1st Avenger only because the 3d was good. Flinched when Cap threw the shield and it was like it was flying towards you. Got roasted for that, but i'm sure my boys flinched too and tried to play it off, I just didn't see because I was watching the movie.

Spiderman, your mom's home......what's wrong with you maaaaan
Him and his friends, everything is Your Mom. We actually just watched The Whale right now, (2nd time for me, 1st for him). When they first show Charlie, he goes "Oh hey, it's your mom."
😂 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tonight. The saga continues (YouTube)

Also, I was in an Uber last week and the driver coincidentally had the Halloween theme as a ringtone for his (elderly) mom? Not sure of the implications behind that

John Carpenter 100% should have put a cease and desist on this

My old experienced *** got to see Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Ghostbusters, Karate Kid (1 and 2), Gremlins, Rocky IV, Temple of Doom (among others) in the theater as a kid.

I’m sure those experiences are a big part of why I’ve been such a movie guy my whole life.
Fixed. 🔥

My theater attendance has severely waned over the last decade but it was an amazing experience seeing Get Out, Straight Outta Compton, & Black Panther in a majority black audience. Get Out in particular cause we gonna make jokes no matter what

*edit- Just to round out a top 5, let’s add The Room & Troll 2 to the list. I saw both for the first time last year as a bad movie double feature at film festival. 75% of the audience knew what was coming and were yelling along at the screen or throwing spoons. It was great and something you cannot recreate at home

In my own defense, I haven't seen it. 👀
Or any Bonds, actually. 👀

Couple options......

Start from scratch and watch 25+ films.

Or......you could just start with Casino Royale and it's just 5 Craig films. If you enjoy, you could go back.

There will be small nods and details you won't understand, but it won't harm your overall viewing experience. (Some of the Bond's are more Austin Powers than Bond's)

I always tell people that they won’t fully appreciate how insanely good Craig’s Casino Royale is, until you’ve seen 10 crappy older bond movies. Austin powers did so good at spoofing those cheesy older ones

The Roger Moore era in particular. Maybe a little T. Dalt. Too.

Still appreciated though. I think For Your Eyes Only was the first bond movie I saw in the theater and I loved it.

I would start at the beginning and watch the Connery ones - and then jump forward to Dalton/Brosnan/Craig.

Some in the middle are okay - but they're pretty of their time and get a bit silly in places.

Look folks, if I tell him to watch the Brosnan films I'm going to be the first person he blocks. I can't have that.

Campy movies think those joints are too campy.

The Craig's tho........those will get him asking me for more suggestions.

id recommend ska start with craig bond and work backwards. he might check out with the earlier ones.
