So has anyone here actually seen Emilia Perez? I know there are always movies like this that get several oscar noms but the public at large hasn't really seen and/or heard of the film. I'm not the biggest musical fan but am willing to take a chance on some if they are well received.

Brolin has the right idea



That was his magnum opus imo and that's lofty praise with his filmography to date.

The Oscars have been missing the mark for some time though and seem to love rewarding movies that get poorly received by the very groups they're supposed to advocate for/highlight

It's why a film like Emilia Perez is now in the same category as certified classics for most nominations ever despite being panned by audiences and the box office

Yeah man, I’ve been trying to figure out what his deal is, and the reason for his bizarre outbursts and have just come to the conclusion some people are just wired different. And there’s nothing wrong with that, I’m just thrown for a loop at where these perceived insults are coming from. Like why would someone hold a grudge against a stranger on the internet?

I literally shared with him a heartfelt story about the first time I watched Phantom Menace, one of his favorite movies. The good feeling I had, and especially sharing that moment with my adoptive dad (who passed away in 2021)

Next time I log in, he’s accusing me of posting passive aggressive memes? (Not sure he knows what that phrase means) responding to my clarification questions with snarky sarcasm, and then no response since.

I’m def not giving up on the kid. Unless I’m gonna be catching strays for no reason every time I post anything. Then it’s time to kick rocks.
