Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Wait, like your GOAT of the Terminator saga?
Or your GOAT... period?

We should do a collective four favorites like Letterboxd's one of these days.

Without overthinking, based on a loose formula of box office success, critic and user reviews, cultural impact and personal re-watches (with re-watches weighted most heavily), I’d say my Top 4 ATF movies are:

Aliens
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Beverly Hills Cop
Wedding Crashers

The Outsider had an incredibly strong start that hooked me immediately. I found myself racing through episodes, eager to uncover more. The suspense and intrigue were spot on in the beginning, but unfortunately, the momentum didn’t last.

As the series progressed, the plot began to lose steam, and what started as gripping turned into a bit of a slog. The direction became predictable, and they stretched the story to the point where it started to feel cringe-worthy at times. By the final episodes, I was more focused on just finishing it than truly enjoying it.

That said, the opening was so strong that I’d still rate the show right in the middle. If it had maintained its initial energy and pacing, I would have easily called it a must-watch. As it stands, it’s worth checking out for the beginning, but be prepared for a dip in quality as it drags on.

Goodfellas
The Matrix
Terminator 2

That's a Rushmore, right? Lotta folks noddin along......

Where's

The Dark Knight
The Empire Strikes Back
The Godfather 2
Pulp Fiction

Or

Scream
Die Hard
John Wick
Casino Royale

Good Will Hunting

I haven't listed Fast Five, or a single Mission Impossible, or Top Gun Maverick, or The Departed, or Halloween, or Inception, or The Winter Soldier, or Gladiator, or Something About Mary, or True Romance.........

I don't believe it's truly possible. But I'm just one man. I'll gladly store anyone else that wants theirs saved with the others.

I am a man of the people. :lol

I hear you.

I started to do an “honorable mention” list to supplement my top 4 and after I listed like 20 movies, I stopped and gave up.

My Mount Rushmore is how I feel today; it could be different tomorrow depending on what I watch tonight.

I’ve had good luck watching indie quirky, dark comedies with my son. So we’re doing Garden State tonight. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it - holding up so far.

Whenever the thought or question of favorite movies come up, til this day, my first thought is always Gladiator. After that it’s a blur. So many movies I love. There are movies that were just great, and movies that were really good but the experience of watching, or leading up to or afterwards, impacted my feelings for it. I’ll give a top 4 a try…

Gladiator(lol), was the first movie that made me truly appreciate that style of cinema. Had to go back and check out Braveheart and such. I was 17 when I first saw it. At that time in my life I would’ve never thought to watch such a movie. Shoutout to my 12th grade world history teacher.

Titanic. Til this day I am still fascinated with the tragic story of the “Unsinkable Ship”. Movie is the perfect blend of history and a love story. Watching it on the big screen was truly an experience.

Robocop. Robocop may be the most entertaining movie ever. It had everything, and nothing seemed out of place. Action packed, funny, sad, dramatic, good story, and though many of us were probably too young to be watching it(lol) it’s a movie that connects with all ages. Til this day, a great watch.

Halloween. Horror is my favorite movie genre because of Halloween. It’s not my number one horror movie, but the most important and definitely one of the best.

Yes, I will do a honorable mention, missed this thread for years lol

Terminator 2, there have been some great sequels, this may be the best
Malcom X, GOAT biopic
Gangs of New York, Daniel Day-Lewis with one the greatest performances ever
The Watchmen, best comic book movie
May lose some of y’all with this one if I already haven’t lol. Four Brothers. Watching this on the big screen opening weekend was probably my favorite movie experience ever. I was so intoxicated lol, and we had to sit in the first row, and it was perfect! One of most entertaining movies ever for me.

Picking 4 movies is crazy.

LOTR
Matrix
Schindler's List
Pianist
Saving Private Ryan
Indiana Jones
Good fellas
Back to the Future
Godfather

And I can go on .....

Some might be sentimental, but still damn good movies.

No Good Will Hunting?
No Antwone Fisher?

8o
See I had to step away from my own personal list because when I think Mt Rushmore, I think about 4 movies that I want everyone moving forward to see.
My top 5 is my personal top 5 for me personally, not necessarily that I want everyone to watch these 5 movies.
1 & 2: Room & Antwone Fisher.
3/4/5: Good Will Hunting, Silver Linings Playbook, John Q
