Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I was kinda bummed that Army of the Dead didn't match up with what the preview made it look to be.

Preview made it look like a Vegas heist, spend a couple days underground, come out with all the loot, and boom, the city is GONE. Army enters, they gotta fight their way out. Kinda cool premise.

This was YEARS that Vegas was uninhabitable, and was blocked off with........shipping containers????? Do you know how long it would take to surround a city with shipping containers?

They are smart enough to wear a helmet (as zombies) and have babies, and dodge bullets & ****, but they can't climb? What the ****?

I mean, it was fun, some cool stuff, but some of the other things like I mentioned bugged me a little.

Nevermind the main plot, sneak in for 200 mil, ok. That chick was sneaking other people in, just cuz? People WANTED to sneak into Vegas, for things other than 200 mil? WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

They waited YEARS before they sent a nuke?  Vegas is just off the map, we dropped some shipping containers, everyone else carry on.

We chose Dave Bautista, so we could have powerful, emotional dialogue with his daughter, with a nuke midflight, really? This what we doin?

I never seen a dude run thru a casino table to table to table and go 100/100 headshots while doin it. Quite impressive.

.8/8 but watchability, prolly like a 6/8.

Army of the Dead 4.25/8 - No expectations and I was unaware its somewhat of a heist movie. The characters are corny and the motivations don't add up. 45 minutes too long and some editing mistakes (robot face zombie) make this one another dud for Snyder.

The Woman in the Window 3.5/8 - I was onboard for awhile and didn't mind Amy Adams basically being half asleep/drunk the whole movie. The cast is loaded for this being pretty dull until the last half hour.

Two for the Money 3.75/8 - A little farfetched if you know anything about gambling/sports betting. Al Pacino does a terrible Stu but I got the references. McConaughey needing an excuse to take his shirt off multiple times is not surprising but man that High School or College football flashback was trash.

I'm hoping A Quiet Place 2 wipes all 3 of these from my short term memory.

I pretty sure that was on purpose.

Seeing Cruella Friday night with friends :pimp:... on my Emma Stone **** I guess, no reviews/RT score yet.

What's the worst post-2000s sports movie that took itself seriously outside of Draft Day?

I just hope it's good, I wouldn't watch it at home or by myself/with my roommate but I would if I'm with people going to a theater.

Another friend group wants to see Quiet Place so ima try to get that going Saturday, & go balls out this weekend with drinks at the MacGuffins AMC bar, meet a girl that likes Hitchcock or continuity editing or some ish.

Why does Zack Synder keep getting work, let alone huge budgets? I'm a zombie dork, and Bautista/Batista was staring so I of course Like what happened w/ the blonde lady that got speared? And how did a regular car blow a military grade truck? Shouldn't it have just bulldozed the car outta the way? Oh and badass lady. Why the hell didn't the team help her, AND why didn't she out that scumbag? Hell, I would've shot him.

The acting in this was actually good, and guess I liked this if I don't try to make sense of it. I just don't understand why Zack Synder keeps these huge budgets when he almost always underperforms critically AND financially. The worst part of this movie & his movies in general is his storytelling and direction. Man escaped from a presumably locked safe (the best one too) at the bottom of a building in ruins with 3 HUGE bags of money in a highly radioactive area that had just been nuked an extremely short time ago. How?

5/8

Army of the Dead was fun. If you were looking for more than simply fun, you will be disappointed. If you are looking to be entertained, which is all you should be looking for IMO, you will enjoy it.

was it supposed to be robots? I assumed all that glowing **** was some kind of entity that was used the make the Alpha
