On Jan 31, the Sole Collector forums will be shut down

I posted about the shut down on my personal IG the other day. Looks like it made the rounds to NT. Wild ride between SC and NT. I'd personally like to see a 30 for 30 someday :nerd:

The place was pretty cool for the first few years I posted as a regular. I was selected as a moderator and a year later to admin. That's when it kinda became a chore because of all the scammers in the marketplace. Oh, and some of you knuckle heads who came over to troll / post porn didn't exactly make it any easier (you know who you are, lol). No regrets though, there were some cool peeps there and enjoyed hanging with them in person.

This reminds me...I used to browse ISS back around 2006-2007 until someone from NT came through and posted porn on there. I was browsing at my high school library and saw it pop up on a thread; I closed it down ASAP but got called into the school dean's office 15 minutes later (over the intercom...pretty embarrassing) to explain why I was browsing porn at a crowded library. Apparently the school IT guy found out somehow and snitched to the dean.

Eventually she believed me but still banned me from the library computers for 30 days and gave me after school garbage pick up duties. After my ban was lifted, I started browsing NT at the library since the school blocked ISS. Shortly after that, I noticed dudes posting porn threads in their "Blaze of glory" NT exits, so eventually I stopped browsing sneaker sites in general at school

In short, NT recruited me from ISS by posting troll porn threads on ISS and getting me into a @#$@ load of trouble. Thank you to whoever did that

this place can easily be next if certain things as far as User interface..."official" threads which are a pain to navigate thru were abundant in da sole collector forums...

Ain't nothing wrong with how the site is set up. You looking for a reason to complain. Current set up way better than Yuku days

No UI is perfect, but as long as there's room to improve, there's reason to improve. We added some great features last year as a result of our platform change, and more are on the way this year.

There are positives and negatives to "megathreads." They're easier to find, they're more active, you can keep track of your favorites via subscriptions or the new activity feed feature, and many users like to create bookmarks to jump straight there, without having to sift through a forum directory.

The challenge, for all forums, has been organizing information so that something important on page 53 of a 200 page thread isn't buried.

We're working on a new feature we believe will help: info tabs. Soon, we'll be able to link an article that multiple users can update to a specific thread. If you're in a sneaker release thread, for example, you'll be able to switch over to an info tab to see all of the latest release information, pictures, etc.

You can see a preview of the feature here: https://niketalk.com/threads/the-sc...cade-this-saturday-in-chicago-lombard.669403/

Notice how there's an "Overview" tab that shows the details of the event. That tab would be visible on any page of the thread, and you can easily switch back and forth.

The usefulness of this feature depends on the efforts of those who would help update the articles. In some threads, the topic starter tries their best to maintain an updated topic post, but it can be difficult to do by yourself and it can be challenging to organize everything in a single post. Soon, multiple users can share that responsibility, and create additional articles for the sake of organization like those you'd find on wiki sites.

We're starting simple, with controlled tests involving one or more authorized editors per article, but once any problems are ironed out we'll start rolling this out to large, existing forum threads in the not too distant future.

Anyone who wants to create separate, more specific forum threads is, as always, welcome to do so. No matter how large or small the discussion, a well integrated articles system could help better organize the wealth of knowledge shared by our fellow members.

Site and forums was aiiiiiiiite, but they had some hawt posters Lol. Still got this in my garage welcoming me every time I drive in haha (yes the walls need to be painted)

As said the Marketplace was good, and I got rid of a ton of kicks back 5-10 years ago.

What are people using now instead of Stockx, GOAT, and the regular ebay route?

After shipping and fees, those are taking 20-30% :rolleyes:rolleyes

and the NT Marketplace has always been dead

I hear a lot of guys buy and sell on local facebook groups. I find myself still on ebay picking up new & used kicks for decent prices. Also check out @RetailTuesday on Twitter. It's run by a good dude and most of the prices are reasonable.

2 years later and I bumped into this thread. I met so many dope people on ISS/Solecollector in ‘05. Met so many real sneaker heads and now it ain’t the same. Tired of seeing broke boys on Twitter asking if this shoe is gonna sell and not value the sneakers. Bring back the old times

The Sole collector forum was crap it was only good for selling

My loyalty is and will always be with NikeTalk even with the buy and sell section a shell of itself.
NT for me is my Internet home.

I have never sold a shoe on Instagram and probably never will.
But im not going lie I wish the NT buy and sell section would make some type of comeback.
But its seems to me its done.

Damn I didn’t know they closed the forums. I joined and was on there for like 2 years before I found NT. Never looked back 😍

like 4-5 years ago someone on there PMed me to buy my account but I didn’t wanna sell it. Guess I should have

iss was good to me with buying and selling... got some steals on iss... the forums were cool too... i actually started there before i got accepted here on NT since it was a like a month wait... i forgot about it and was on iss for like a year or two then tried loggin into NT and it worked and have been here ever since lol

lol. Your facts are wrong. I worked side by side with jvini for many years to continue moderating those forums along with a good group of individuals of vast ethnicities. Where is this hatred and placing of the race card coming from? SC/ISS had a good run up until Complex took over after Steve sold the company I'll attest to that but your allegations of race and condemnation are way left field bud.

How much did dude sell the company for?

Damn I didn’t know they closed the forums.

I thought they closed like 10-15 years ago. I did have my one and only in person internet meet up via their forums. Bought the Blk/Red 2001 XI's off some local dude. Had the hammer with me just in case. Like, an actual hammer.
