My thought, whether it's accurate or not, is that unfortunately some people wrongfully attached the idea that Muslims are like Bin Laden. He does not represent Muslims but he does represent Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations in a sense. So, while we as a country are willing to honor Muslim tradition, we are not willing to honor those terrorists that may wish to create a shrine for him, hence the idea of burying him within 24 hours but in the ocean. Supporters of Bin Laden are going to feel a certain way following his killing regardless, no need to possibly offend Muslims otherwise.Originally Posted by Jking0821

I thought a lot of muslims hated him anyway because he made their religion look bad they aren't all crazy extremest like he made it look like. And the ones that would get mad because they like him.....are pissed because we killed him...i don't think not burying him right would make them any more angry then they already are....like we shot him in the face....lol that's pretty bad already isn't it.
what am i missing?
I don't know that this is the case, I haven't read any government explanation, but that's how I rationalized it. I'm curious if anyone else has insight.
