PENNY Hardaway---- I DID NOT KNOW...

Lol very true after penny left tmac was passed that torch..speaking of tmac I wonder how good the magic would have even if grant stayed healthy

that .gif never gets old :Nthat

loved penny's game on court... him in his prime was something special. the court vision, his passing, him getting to the rim & finishing, all done so gracefully. its a shame to think what injuries did to him & grant hill :\

Never get tired of seeing this lol.

damn that move is throwin me for a loop.

he was poor man's grant hill. but you were too young to watch grant, also. 6-7 pg, court vision, solid scorer. comparable to tracy mcgrady, but not as good.
he had a nice 3-4 yr stretch where he was an elite player, but that was really it. a little bit overrated when you look at his whole career.

My favorite penny moment was when he dropped back to back 40+ point games against the heat in games 3 & 4 of the first round to avoid elimination. Game 5 in Miami wasn't enough tho :{ .

Poor man's grant hill? Really? That was never said back in the day :|

I'll agree that he was closer to a magic Johnson type player.

Lol at poor man's grant hill. Penny did everything better then grant. Better passer, better shooter, better handles, better defender, etc. Did grant even ever lead his team past the first round? If anybody is overrated it's grant

I agree. I see all types of Grant clones. You never see a Penny clone.

Also, T-mac wasn't anywhere near the PG that Penny was. That's what makes Penny special: he was the ideal #1 + #2 guard. T-mac was a better #2 imo. But he didn't have the flare and smoothness that Penny had with it because he could switch back to #1 in mid-air with no interuptions.

Look at Shaq and Penny's body language and peep what he says about "change." It's clear that Shaq screwed Penny over, and even himself and that whole Magic team. They really were special.

"We didn't have that same camaraderie over there that we had here. " 8o

I've saying for years that Penny is the most overrated player in NT history.

Penny was a better rebounder and scorer than Grant too huh? :lol

Interesting that Grant was a damn 3 and put up the same assist numbers

Penny Hardaway has won one playoff series in his career without Shaq

Okay, i went overboard in saying Penny's better than Grant in everything. Better rebounder? No. But better scorer? HELL YEA! Grant couldn't shoot a 3 for **** and the ONLY reason he has a higher scoring avg. in their prime is because he averaged more shot attempts and free throws than Penny. Grant hill averaged 16+ shots a game 5 times while Penny only ONCE. Has Grant Hill ever even dropped back to back 40 point games? Grant was a better slasher than Penny but Penny was a better post player, shooter, and finisher than Grant.

Grant was a Point forward (like Bron) who had the ball majority of the time so it's not shocking to see his assist numbers high.

Penny's ONE playoff series win (as THE man) >>>>>>> Grant's ZERO playoff series wins as THE man. Again, if anything, Grant Hill is the one that's the most overrated player in NT History.

I don't think either are overrated as during their limited time on the court they put up great numbers and were well respected by MJ and all the greats during the mid to late 90s. Unfortunately like a lot of great players, injuries took the prime years of their careers. And maybe if we had the medical research of today they would have recovered just fine. Medicine has come a long ways the 90s. I mean look at Kidd, he had a micro-fracture and came back strong. And that use to be called a "career ending" injury.

But then again I'm in my late 20s and saw these players in their prime live. And well, to this very day Penny is still my all time favorite player because he was just so different. I mean watch Open Court on NBA TV, all those guys praised Penny when talking about best big man handle and such.
