I'm in the camp that says that Miguel Angel comes through this Saturday, and for a couple reasons.
1) MAC has had a beautiful resurgence recently with that fight over Delvin. Delvin is a BIG dude too, and Cotto destroyed him.
2) I'm not a believer in Maravilla anymore. 2009-2011? Beast. But he was lucky that the JCC Jr. fight didn't last another round, and I frankly thought he got outboxed and beat by Martin Murray.
Let's be real, who is going to be surprised if Sergio hits the mat on Saturday?
And this hypothetical Paquiao/Canelo fight..
I will say this. He's fought guys as skillful and quick as Canelo, but never anyone as powerful. Who's the most powerful guy he's fought? In terms of straight power punches, is it Cotto? Margarito was dangerous for a while, but his wins are all "wrapped," in controversy. Mosley was never a huge power puncher, and while JMM knocked Manny out cold, I think the best power puncher he's fought might've been Cotto.
I don't understand when people say Cotto didn't carry his power to 154, I mean look at who he fought. Anyway, if Cotto knocks down Martinez once, he only needs to win 3 more rounds to win the fight.
I agree with "Showtime" needing a finish overseas, but Porter is a different animal confronting Brook. This ain't Matt Hatton out there.Pac would get beat bad by Canelo. What size gloves would they be using? 8 or 10 oz? Not a good match up for Manny.
Brook vs Porter will probably go the distance. Porter will definitely need a KO if the fight is in the UK.
MSG. Let's get it.Gennady Golovkin vs Danny Geale July 26th on HBO
GGG's gonna fight in the actual arena this time around. At the Theater at the Garden? I'm DEF gonna try and make that.
Samson talked the most smack. Predicts a "Maravilla" KO in Rounds 6-9. Sent multiple shots at Roach.
I seriously don't know, man. I've thought long and hard about this fight. So many questions: Martinez's health, Cotto's body work, Roach's impact, Martinez's dwindling longevity. You?What is your prediction? Using your brain, not your heart.

Haven't even looked. What are the odds?50-50. I'm almost disturbed that so many people are giving Cotto little to no chance. I expect Roach to have a solid game plan for Cotto that he derived from training Chavez Jr for Martinez. Like I suggested earlier, Cotto only has to make the fight look close to get the nod in MSG. Seems like most fans are torn since both are beloved fighters. Hence why I said using your brain, not your heart.
I'll go on record. Cotto, MD 114-113. We'll know in the first three rounds based on MAC's bodywork and Martinez's comfort level and fluidity in the ring. I think "Maravilla" secures a mid-round to late-round knockdown, hence the deducted point from Cotto's scorecard. It all depends on his knee. If Sergio is 100%, I don't see it for Cotto. Unless he absolutely abuses him down low with the left hook VERY early and gets him to protect more. But Cotto's not that kinda volume puncher anymore (if he ever was). I'm pulling for Cotto but I'll say Sergio in the 10th.
I just saw all the Canelo/Margarito banter a few pages back
