I was about that life when I was 18. Got my motorcycle license before my car license. Rode in rain, cold, slight snow, etc.

It was a pain cuz I had to warm up my bike after every hour or so and all the gear I had to put on. My fingers would be numb when I walk into class. Couldn't eem do the warm-up.

How many miles should I expect to get out of a 250? And in your guys opinion, would a 250 be good for a 40 mile commute? 

I don't care about speed or power. I just want to get a bike to save myself gas money.

So I used the jumper cables to start my bike I rode it for like 15 mins. Stop and got some gas, cut it off and it wouldn't start again. How long should I ride it until I'm in the clear? I don't wanna buy a new batterie but if I have to I will.

i normally ride w/ the helmet... i was just dropping it off at the shop and needed to get there quickly...

i HATE riding w/ out a helmet... the safety is a factor, but its also dumb loud and stuff flies up and hits you in the face...

try to jump start it while the car is OFF... never jump a bike while the car is on b/c it will fry the battery ... too much power.

Get a tender for like 20 bucks or takeit to a Harley or n e other bike shop n they will charge it for free.

No helmet law here either..but I don't think in my 20 years of ridin I've ever not worn a helmet

yes, Illinois has a no helmet law. I just find it hilarious to see people ride without helmets BUT their helmet is hanging off the side of the rear seat.  I thought I read somewhere that if there is a no helmet law, there is a no lane sharing law and where there is a helmet law, you can lane share? I came from riding in Cali where there is a helmet law and lane sharing is legal although I find it hard to stop and find myself still lane sharing/splitting lanes here in Chicago.

It's been raining in Georgia for the past 6 weeks (daily, b). Finally got some clear skies. Taking my baby for a nice long ride as soon as I get off work.

I start my msf course next week. I have never been on a motorcycle before. I am pretty excited!

Still contemplating what to get for my first bike. I really want a cafe racer, but I want something I can also take on the highway. I am looking at the Honda cb500f. Anyone know anything about them? They have gotten good reviews. I really don't want to buy something brand new either so IDK. I might just buy a little 250 cruiser for the summer/fall to practice on then cop something better in the winter

Anyone have opinion on tinting windshields. My katana 600 windshield is ugly want to tint it. After doing some online research i think im just going to get some krylon paint and paint the inside of it. I read you can try to dye it with Rit Dye, try to take it and get it tinted if the shop will tint head and tail lights on cars then they will tint your shield. Spray tint. Self tint you have to cut out yourself.....

But i think the easiest cheapest best looking is just paint it.

Also going to get my stock exhaust off. Can i put a slip-on by myself? I want the two brothers carbon fiber exhaust slip-on. I won't have to re-jet my carbs or anything with a slip cover right?

Walmart has spray tint that u can use.

A slip on requires no moding to the engine or bike.

I heard mixed reviews on spray tints though. That it will come out with a purple-ish hue
