And by the way if youre gonna spend money on invictas, use www.invictashark.com. Cheap prices and the watch changes every day.

I just wrote the most basic answer to his question and was jsut implying I could go to detail but it gets really complicated after that.

No I was saying something like.....is it that serious? Like, does the watch game get that in depth. Obviously it does

It goes much deeper than that, believe me.

And no way in hell I woudl take that Invicta over Luminox, no offense StayLurkin.
Luminox is a decent watch and I believe prices are pretty good too.
A lot of people swear by them and love them but to me, they are too thick and bulky.
I would say they are on par with Seiko Black Monster

None taken. Honestly, I don't know a lot about watches and I intend on keeping it that way (for the sake of my wallet

), but Invictas go well on me. Yeah they are def big and thick but they've grown on me. I haven't tried out many watches but it seems like the quality of the watches I have can't get much better. Unless you start throwing diamonds and stuff like that into them. But then again I don't know $$++ about watches

For the price you are paying for the Invicta, you can definitely get something much better in look and quality.
Seiko and Citizen quickly comes to mind. I would even pick Fossil over Invicta to be honest.
Yup. My brother bought a couple Invictas off invictashark.com and I couldnt stand them. Its pure size, nothing else. It seemed so plain and lacking in design, instead they compensate by making it huge. For the price of 2 of those invictas he could've bought something like a Nighthawk from Citizen. No comparison.

To each his own

Well there are a lot of dif designs obviously. They get real silly with looks but the prices get outta control at the same time.

Understood, I don't expect anyone to pay full retail on any watch.
This Seiko Diver is $250 w/ an automatic movement at Jomashop.com, I'm sure it can be found cheaper at Amazon.

Seiko Alarm Chrono for $200, quartz but again, probably could be found cheaper at Amazon.

Seiko Kinetic, $270 at jomashop.com and could be found cheaper at amazon.

Tissot PRC200, $210 at Jomashop, quartz though.

I could go on, theres Mido, Orient Star, Vostok, Citizen, Swiss Army, etc...

I don't like silver straps or silver all the way around or whatever but those are some nice watches as far as the face/actual watch goes. I don't meanto sound like an idiot.... but what does "quartz" mean when talking about a watch? You said it like it was a bad thing

It's not a bad thing necessarily, it means it is powered by a battery, automatics are powered by your movement - self winding.
If you watch stops working if not used for a couple of days, then your watch is an automatic.
Quarts tends to be cheapers as it is less complicated to make.
From your statement, my guess is yous Invictas are all quartz and for $200, a definite rip-off.
Now do not take it as a brand bashing of some sorts but even an automatic Invicta for that price is already pushing it but for a quartz, then it is just not agood value to me.

But it really all falls to what you like and if it makes you happy, that is all that matters and everything that has been said about Invicta, including mystatements shouldn't matter at all.

Nah, changing batteries are cheap.
Around $5-$15, just bring it to any watchmaker in your area or even in one of those stalls in the mall.
It'll take less than 5 minutes to change.

There are plenty of aftermarket rubber strap out there and if I have to guess, the lug size on those are 20mm, probably the most common lug size out there.
There are a couple of people here who owns the exact watch and one has changed straps already I believe. Maybe they can chime in with more info.

These are great watches, Tissot makes some very affordable pieces with great looks to them. My next watch purchase will either be the PRC200 or a Le Locle.
