when i saw this earlier this morning, i was starting to question whether or not it was live-action because the animations were way too fluid and realistic but guerrilla has confirmed that theyre in-game animations

as for google tv i dont see that happening, bringing something like that to a device as popular as the ps3 just prevents people from buying the sony tvs and logitech boxes that feature google tv, not to mention that stuff runs on an intel processor

edit - the animations are guerillas but everything is modeled in cg, youd think theyd stay away from that after 2005

Wondering since companies are giving retro classic game the HD make up, wonder if Square-Enix doing the same and giving Einhander fresh coat of paint and maybe toss in a sequel on the same disc

Dead Space Extraction

EA

After rumors of Dead Space Extraction making way to XBLA and PSN came into light around the time of PAX East, it seems that they were indeed true. According to a post on NeoGAF, Electronic Arts is poised to reveal they are porting former Wii-exclusive, Dead Space Extraction, to PSN and XBLA. No specific release date has been announced, but the title will release later this year. Rumors have suggested a retail price of $14.99 previously, so it could be in that range when it does see release.

Dead Space Extraction was released on the Wii in late 2009 where it was received with less than stellar sales. Though receiving positive reviews and impressive visuals, the game failed to cater to the Wii audience base and ultimately failed when it hit retail. Since the Wii title was based on the Wii-motes functionality, Move and Natal support could potentially be added to the game to give off a fun rail-based shooting experience for the new control options Sony and Microsoft will introduce later this year. It's expected that the game will see HD visuals and trophies/achievment support.

With the Dead Space franchise having performed well on the PS3 and Xbox 360, Extraction will get a second chance at reaching the Dead Space fanbase before Dead Space 2 releases in 2011. Below, we have screens from the Wii build for you to gaze over. More information and details will be revealed at E3 and throughout the year.

Dope, I was surprised DS:E was Wii exclusive..

Infamous 2 bolts for Game Informer cover
by Ludwig Kietzmann { 6 minutes ago }

infamous2wrap64-1.jpg

Sensibly capitalized sequel news now, with the long-rumored and impatiently awaited inFAMOUS 2 Infamous 2 making a bold debut on the cover of July's Game Informer. The developers at Sucker Punch are taking their current superhero to a new city, granting him new powers and -- judging by the cover art -- casting him in a surprisingly different aesthetic. Is that really Cole MacGrath? Seems more like a Cole MacPleasure, doesn't he?

Expect to hear more about Infamous 2 at E3 2010.

New PS3 Ships with More Efficient and Cheaper 40nm RSX GPU

Read more: http://www.ps3news.com/PlayStation-...cient-and-cheaper-40nm-rsx-gpu/#ixzz0pvNySLtV

Update: The new 40nm PS3 systems are now in the wild, as confirmed by SovietSlayer via CAG at Fry's Electronics in Costa Mesa, CA.

In order to provide a more efficient and greener console, Sony is shipping new PS3 (CECH-2100A) entertainment systems which now include a cheaper 40nm (CXD5300AGB) RSX GPU that reduces energy output.

This reduction is down from the 90nm and more recently the 65nm RSX graphics processors and moves Sony one step closer to hardware profitability.

According to PocketNews (translated by PlayStationUniversity.com and confirmed by Engadget.com), the PlayStation 3's new improved RSX graphics chip also reduces the likelihood of the console being affected by the infamous PS3 YLOD (yellow light of death) while using 15 percent less power.

Finally, instead of using four 64mb XDR RAM chips it now utilizes two 128mb ones.

To quote: "Expect a 15% decrease in overall PS3 power consumption (vs the last PS3 Slim!) thanks to the upgrade, as well as a PS3 that's overall less likely to overheat.

And in case you cared about Sony's bottom line—and unless you hold stock, why would you—fewer, simplified cooling components coupled with the smaller GPU (that itself has less adjoining chips) mean that Sony may be in the black on each PS3 Slim that leaves Walmart or wherever cool kids shop these days."

I got one of these systems, CECH-2101A, from Amazon. Dunno how much lighter it is to the first PS3 slim (comparatively), but it feels nice having it
