Living in the spotlight is never easy, especially when your private family matters become fodder for the blogosphere. For 80’s R&B sensation turned radio personality Albert “Al B Sure” Brown, enduring public criticism from his son, Quincy “IQ” Brown (whom he fathered with former model Kim Porter, the mother of three of Diddy’s children), is pretty hard to swallow.

“I’m a human being so of course hearing about any family member being disappointed with you is devastating, but what can you do? I’m a human being and my job is to fix it,” Al B. Sure tells ESSENCE.com exclusively. “I will not engage in a private family matter with the public, but I will say that Quincy is the most wonderful, kind young man in the world, and whatever he and I are going through we are going to work it out and that’s all that counts.”

About a month ago, Quincy posted an open letter to his father on Russell Simmons’s GlobalGrind.com accusing him of being an absentee father:

“Albert Brown, also known as “Al B. Sure!” is my biological father, but Sean Combs, also known as “Diddy,” has been a father figure in my life for as long as I can remember. Sean Combs is the person whom I look up to and appreciate as a father. He is the one who helped mold me into the person I am today and I will always try to live up to his expectations. He has always been supportive of me and I will forever love and respect him. As far as my biological father goes, the ‘spitting image’ is all I have taken from him. Throughout my life, I’ve always wondered about him: Where he was? What was he doing? and most importantly, Was he even thinking about me? The absence of my father has given me a better understanding of what type of man I am going to be. I am grateful for my mom’s love, support, guidance, and for her strength.”

Al B. Sure is set to drop his new album, “Honey, I’m Home,” (Hidden Beach Recordings) on Tuesday, June 23.

Damn, always wondered what the story was, how you let your kid call another man daddy? Not sure if this is the case but I know dudes so in love with their babymother they only wanted the kid if she's still their chick.

For some reason this reminded me of this joint. Aaron sounds like he basically Ad-libs everything after 3:00. So basically 40% of the song.

But my favorite **** is 3:39 and on....

That's like the perfect having a crush on a girl joint

I like the way you wear your hair

I like the stylish clothes you wear

Just hit me Nas never said an album was dropping. He kept posting those clips and saying the 15th. His little movie came out today so I don't think there's an album coming out tomorrow.
