Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Even amongst this era, Chris ain't got no House Of Balloons, Chanel Orange, Love Hate, Malibu. I hear people talk more about Miguel's albums than his. Chris is good at making trendy hot at the moment singles.

CB has great albums, he doesn’t need to have a classic and he caters to a much bigger fan base than everyone you listed when they dropped.

That's kinda my point though. He caters to the crowd. His music is made for IG captions and "trending" on twitter. Him and Drake are a lot alike. Him and Drakes project is gonna be the most forced project in a long time.

He's that with music not touching any of their catalogue by a longshot. Each one of them has classics. Chris has none.

his first album a classic to my generation, maybe from nostalgia

but i see what u mean in that he dont have a 12 play, thriller/bad, confessions type album

Past few pages too long to quote but I think nawghty was the one who said “more streams is more money for artist” in an unrelated convo

daylyt really be saying some smart **** aside from the shenanigans

he brigs up the great point that its more money than ever in the music industry but the labels are eating infinitely more than the artist

i never thought about the labels charging the fans to listen to the music and then charging the artists to upload the music...while contributing nothing to that process

I've literally said all of this

but I'm the hating old head.

But let some tell it, he only talks about his student loans

Nobody has every said that tho. People for a fact know he talks about more than that. People's gripes with Cole are well known at this point

Under they breath mumbling
Scared to tell them **** what it is
You put yourself in that position
Out-chea with all that baller fishing

This shift to streaming era has only benefited the record labels, really saved them from potentially going extinct and actually drastically lowered their overhead while taking the lions share of streaming revenue

I hated it when I got it, but it had some gems
