Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

The only joint I hear “out” is Loyalty

Could make the argument it’s because of the feature

You talking now or in general? Cause now the album is 8 months old. Unless an album is full of lol, it's really not lasting a year in this era.

love is one of my favorite songs

most examples I’m seeing is tv placements tho

I’m talking bout people playing it on there own

You could just check the streaming numbers.

Humble is the worst Kendrick Lamar song I’ve heard ever...literally garbage. No idea how ppl like it.

And this future talk :ohwell: it’s gotta stop. That ***** sucks. He don’t touch nobody lmao
Outside of the OVO camp you never know whats poppin though.

Actually gave DAMN. a full spin like two days ago to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I just don't get it :lol not one bit.

Future and Hndrxx > DAMN.

I Decided > DAMN.

More Life > Damn.

But there's no doubt that Dot for sure can have that mantle of hottest out and I live in LA, they play Loyalty or Humble 24/7. It's quite exhausting.

As far as mainstream acts go, don't nobody get more spins than Dot / Drake / Super / Big Sean. That's really the big 4. And as far as popularity goes, Sean is probably the most slept on. The amount of hits he has man, he's right behind Drake and Future in that regard.

Sean don't belong in that. Especially after you let a ***** use your own ad-lib against you in your song 327 times.

Sure but How does he not belong in that? There's like two rappers with more hits right now than him :lol

Sean is too inconsistent. He's beginning to become the new Fab. All his albums are forgettable. The Detroit tape stands out.

I'm not debating your stance on him, all i'm saying is that he's unquestionably right at the top when it comes to mainstream hitmakers in rap right now. Easily.

In Houston Cole gets a lot of play for no reason lol. They play his old **** like it’s new :lol simply because his new **** didn’t hit hard enough.

Dark sky paradise was flames. Didn’t like Sean new album. But whether I liked it or not dude is right Sean does have the hits.

Future make 10 songs about Molly water and then has one verse On a song mentioning police brutality(not to mention the same **** “they shoot us” no insight no depth no perspective) and ppl lose their mind and praise him like he put out TPAB :lol

Future dropped three albums that came and went. Mad Future fans were saying a lot of that music was trash.

I forgot Big Sean dropped an album. That **** was one of the worst albums of the year. **** was ****in Nickelodeon music. Soft *** music.

Guess that's just the area you in bruh. Cuz I always hear people playing his ****. His music is in multiple commercials, NBA and NFL stuff. And he done sold a big amount so people bumping it.

i only barely hear Kendrick a lil when i spin da radio..

people wise? nah.

We doing the whole I never hear ______ being played around me so he's not poppin routine?

Kendrick & Future dominating 2017 ain't really debatable

Yeah people really think regional **** still ain't in play . Based on that thinking, Bobby Smurda was a one hit wonder because Bobby ***** and Computers got no play on the west coast like that.

How else would you decide who ran rap this year? By how often you hear them and how often people are talking about. I think Future had a good year but I didn't hear about him or his music nearly as much as Kendrick's. I also heard a lot of people talk about those three albums and how rushed they were and not liking more than one album.

In 98, DMX was everywhere and everyone was talking about him.

In 02, Nelly was everywhere and everyone was talking about him.

You at least feel that Kendrick was top dog this year. There's ppl in this thread claiming that neither of them were the biggest dudes out.
