Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

If none of the streaming companies are turning a profit...what the hell is the point?

How is that the future if it isn't making any money?

to get us to not value owning music for a solid 5-10 years, have everyone rely on accessing all of their content through paywall clouds (streaming) and then in the early-mid 2020’s force us to adopt a new platform/music medium we have to pay for...again

until they find a reason for people to want to physically own music again theyre putting off the inevitable of people saying **** it and not paying for music at all...right now its just a matter of streaming being more convenient because everything is there on your apps and they do crackhead deals like 0.99 for 3 months not that im mad about that

its gonna be hilarious to see joe backtrack when this **** is hard

jeezy def aint connecting with the new atlanta *****s because they all tied to gucci...his 3 year absence was jeezys shot

Again I don't think Jeezy really itching for those features, he's stated before that he ain't looking to forge relationships with everybody. Just seems like Jeezy keeps his circle small & doesn't decide to work with everyone. He has a different approach than Gucci & rather stay distant. Neither approach is wrong.

This honestly sounds a lot like how Jay moved. he lept it business only with most rappers, i can't blame him.

he speaks on new artist & his approach here

According to Joe, you’re fighting the quiet storm if you don’t maintain the same level of reverence as you did 12 years ago when your debut album dropped.

This ***** be talking just to be talking, man.

Joe is 100% starting the next show with an apology to Jeezy. None of what he said made sense. Not sure why he was so interested in Jeezys pockets

Majority of those features on Jeezy's album is trash. Don't want to hear those sorry *** fools. Song with Tee Grizzley bum *** is trash. Joint with Puff hard as ****.

The funny part is that he represents a lot of people's thoughts on situations like this. I remember having debate's on this website in 2011-12 with people claiming "jeezy isn't relevant anymore". It happens with Jada, It happens with Fab, With T.I, with Cam, its gonna start happening to Wayne etc etc. **** prior to 4:44 it was happening to Jay

people will claim nobody is "listening" or interest because it doesn't dominate the social feed of teenagers.

Lol nahhh y’all better kill Jeezy for hat feature heavy track list like y’all do game and everybody else

I can't eem lie I was killing Ferg, that _ trash tho and has never been able to carry a full project

I think Jeezy know he not exactly the hottest rapper right now and tryna make a splash/grab attention

That’s how you know a ***** is washed and/or trash when they gotta have a feature on every track

French Montana’s bum *** was a guest on his own album

Personally I don't mind features as long as they make sense. Documentary 2 had a ton of features & it was one of the better albums that year. Also Gucci last record had features on 11/17 of the tracks. Artist these days are a lot more open to features.

And then in the next breath hit us with the “I’m not concerned with what the younger generation is checking for” :lol

Man stop it. TI explained it perfectly the other day. People have finite moments. **** doesn’t last forever. It’s as if the true testament for a rapper is only determined be how long the run is and then the end of the run means it’s quiet for them. I disagree with that. Time only moves forward. I can’t knock Jeezy for dropping a new album or having only his “fan base” checking for a new album. If anything that shows that he’s good out here still because he doesn’t have to rap, yet there are still people checking for him when he does.

Not a fan of crazy amounts of features on albums, but I’m checking for new Snow on release day. :smokin
