Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

A ***** who runs the YFN Lucci fan coalition calling a charting record by Fat Joe "forced" when he has been apart of numerous hit records for 20 plus years.

My *****, I been enjoying Fat Joe’s music since I was a shorty. From hits to everything in bwteeen.

That said....”All the way up” and ALOT of his recent records he’s dropped have been formulaic, forced hits. Khaled. I stand by that.

I think he said he was a bad version of Lil Wayne.

It's true as hell, but facts can also be insults.

I saw Joe's name pop up a couple times for saying something wild. Either that interviewer was trying to get Joe to say something, or Joe is looking for some buzz. That Uzi slander sounded so random.

Depends on how you look at being called "bad version" of somebody else

oh well nvm. I ain't know said that. I just read an excerpt that said something to the effect of "I like him but he's no lil wayne".

"bad version" is def an insult.

I mean you can split hairs and say he didn't s*** on him because he could have said worse but yea, it's no compliment and even if it's true it didn't prove Joe's point. It was a useless adjective

Uzi is a Wayne offspring but outside of that, there's no similarity to where they should even be compared. And Uzi definitely has better melodies than Wayne. Just a decade ago, all of Wayne's autotune heavy music was slammed by damn near everyone.

Fat Joe is friends with Wayne. Wayne helped give Joe a hit. Loyalty

Nevermind

This dummy really about to get fired/have to leave ironically because of some **** he said before the show even started ruining the energy

Because you don't care that means others shouldn't?

Maybe you should equate this to something you care about, if there was someone who talked black/jews/men/asians/hispanics...and then liked to brush it off as. I was just joking and being a hater.

I get the Uzi and Wayne comparison and it rings off as true imo . Uzi reminds me of Wayne a lot on neon guts and other tracks.

Joe didn’t have to say it like that though lol .

all people are really saying is uzi has a better “singing” voice than wayne

but everybody wants to ride the buzz word train

people don’t even use words they think sounds right anymore

literally decades of consistent hit singles from Wayne & somehow Uzi has better melodies....... i can't believe ya'll are even trying to discuss this.
How does hit singles translate to having better melodies?

If Uzi and other new rappers can troll and say dumb **** I don't see why Joe can't talk his **** too.

And Uzi is a copy of Rebirth fake rock star Wayne, it's obvious.

I'm tired of the old dudes besides 50 playing nice.

Even 50 doesn't seem to want to say something about the young kids.

I never said this

I just feel like it's ruining the energy to where they have to edit out little passive aggressive awkward exchanges and one has to leave

But that was prior to watching today's episode where he brought it back up they both stated how they feel and so far it seems like they're both tryna make the energy seem better

You say this like melody and hits are mutually exclusive

melody wasn't really apart of Wayne's skillset hitmaking wise until Lollipop or maaaaybe Make It Rain

He got all prior hits off of just being a good rap songwriter
