Blu didn't create conscious rap or even have a new take on it. If we going that route then he was stealing from Common and Mos Def.
Blu and Cole too distinct for me to say they got the same voice or flow.
J. Cole sounds more like a NYC rapper (of that time) than anything. Blu clearly doesn't.
