Crazy how Melle Mel criticized how RUN DMC dressed

Difference in generations. They came out of the 70's

That's why Prince and Michael Jackson were the way they were. You weren't supposed to dress like everyone else. You were supposed to stand out.

That's why I love what Jam Master Jay brought to Run DMC and hip hop. It wasn't only street music, but it encompassed all parts of it.

Bruh, are you aware of how many “street” dudes, prisoners, etc are closeted or sleep with dudes. It’s more common than you think.

Look at young thug calling people boyfriend, smoking d*** and wearing nail polish. You really think Isaiah Rashad is the first situation?

You need to research Wayne Perry and Rayful Edmond. Even Sammy the Bull was known to sleep with men. A lot of mafioso and gang members are gay bruh

42 dug literally was sitting on a guys lap throwing dice. Look at Birdman and Diddy. They rumors aren’t false

Dudes wearing rainbow colorful hair, purses, nail polish and dresses… but you draw the line at other things?

The keyword in your response is "closeted". And I agree, Im sure there are plenty of down low cats out there in the hip hop community, but what I am referring to is it being openly displayed.

Yes, Thug wears dresses, Gunna rocks purses, Wayne kissin baby, etc., theres plenty of folks in the industry tip toeing that line, but what street rapper is openly gay that we know of? None to my knowledge.

Thats why I feel its not fully embraced, becuase if that were true, we would have openly gay male street rappers. People can make all type of excuses for the rappers wearing leggins, dresses, man pursses and painted nails, but until its a rapper, lets say someone to the extent of meek mill, ross, lil baby, fivio, durk that is on front street as homosexual, its difficult for me to say its fully embraced. Known and whispered about behind closed doors, and for people within specific circles isnt the same as it being publicly displayed to the masses. Ive seen people give certain rappers passes/benefit of the doubt based on wearing questionable feminine clothing attire, what color their hair and nails are, thats definitely been embraced/accepted for sure, but we have yet to see the street hip hop community embrace an openly gay male rapper that is not hiding their sexual orientation. That is what I am referring too, not these dudes with tight pants, colorful hair, purses, and nail polish...
