As an insurance professional, I can tell you that is false. It’s easier to pay claims than to deny them. Litigation is wild expensive. However, you can only pay for items covered by a policy that are damaged by a covered peril. Policies don’t cover everything, they are contracts that list specifically what’s covered.

As already stated, Flight Club and similar stores been robbing people for years. They’ll get their insurance checks and keep it moving.

Depends on the policy. Some have exclusions specifically for civil commotions - ie looting. Unlikely the adjusters handling these claims will be thinking it's easier to pay, unless limits are low. There would be mountains of admin work, would be much easier to deny all these claims, either for coverage or failure to document the loss properly.

Unlikely litigation happens as you said, it's expensive, but for the claimant. The big bad insurance carrier has pockets too deep to care.

Then again, I have no idea what sort of general commercial policy consignment shops would carry.

Does this mean the consignment kicks owners aren't covered?

Second half, basically says that the only possible money a consignor is entitled to is insurance compensation the store receives specifically for that individuals items lost in the store. Whether or not Flight Club honors that is anyone’s guess.
