ya im sorry guys, this is part of the problem.  in all honestly if you buy something you believe is "authentic" and then decide they are in fact "not authentic" (based off the opinions of other people on the internet) before you even have them in your hands...then that is a big problem in my opinion.  you dont even know, one way or they other, but have already decided to believe one side.  so if you are that capable of having so little faith in your own judgment then i cant even listen to what your opinion would be when you actually do get them in because it holds no weight...

I just don't need a pair of shoes sitting around that I'll always be iffy on. If Ron comes out and says that they are in fact 100% authentic and authorized, then I'll keep my pair, but until then, I'll just get my money back.

Your in NYC right? Try to hit up Flight and/or Kith once your pair comes in to end this once and for all plus it would save me a trip to the city from NJ lol
I get mine on Friday but won't be able to over the weekend. I'll give it until mid next week to decide if I'm sending them back or not.

well not everyone is an expert in everything. Thats why people take advice/suggestions from people who are more reputable. I haven't had a fair share of Asics in my entire collection over the years, and rarely dealt with fakes to really become an expect in telling real and fake in hand, especially in a brand I barely dabble in.

This is very true, I have one pair of shoes I purchased from a dealer I wasn't 100% confident about and to this day I still am not sure about them. Not worth the risk if you ask me. But if people just want the shoe bad enough and it's not that important to them, then that is fine. To each their own.

Also, don't forget that people grabbed these on a hunch without thinking too much about it since they were selling out so fast. Everyone realized quickly they were covered if they ended up getting fakes, so it was a no risk buy.

Welp, it's been fun fellas. I got nothing left :lol people wanna see us fail to make their pairs seem more special. But it's all good, we took the chance.

So is my BTP pair fake too since it was made in 2016?

trust i get it, and understand there was no risk.  to be honest i would have bought a pair as well(and still might) if my funds werent so tight at the moment.

my point is, people are deciding BEFORE THEY EVEN HAVE THEM IN HAND, that they are fake and are going to send them back.  and thats a problem, of course, IMO.

I'll try to make the trip if I can.

I really don't care what anyone says but these are authentic. Im just going to go to help and bring peace to be honest.

Does anyone have the regular Homage box from last year? I'll post pics of the Ruze pair box label in a few

We're deciding based on pics provided by those that have them in hand and a direct comparison to 2015 Homages. We even solved the difference in the font on the tag, but have yet to have a reason for the production date.

Where did you get your BTP pair from?

Ruze pairs say "Men's" on them. Regular pairs from last year do not. Designating the gender seems like a 2016 thing.

eBay pair does not have "MEN's" on the label....now who is to say the eBay pair isn't from Ruze?

Honestly guys, there is not damn way a fake will be this good. Even the laces are the same....UPC is close enough and slight diff based on the size.

Im just curious to know why these were produced after the official release and how Ruze got so many pairs.

I'll still try to hit up Flight Club and Kith this weekend. If someone can beat me to it, even better.

the thing is, FC don't really legit check, and if they did, they wouldn't be able to tell between high quality fakes and/or unauthorized pairs. And at kith, unless you're speaking to Ronnie, I doubt the employees will be able to give you 100% verification. I'm waiting to hear from Ronnie or Asics or this mystery might never get solved.

Yep, there's no doubt that these were produced in 2016 by Asics. The reason is why.

Factory worker making a quick buck? Asics HQ saying make a small batch to send to outlets to reduce scrap?

These answers we will never know most likely. Only Asics can answer. It's outside Ronnie's hands now imo since it was produced after the release.

My 2016 BTP makes me very very skeptical for either case. It corroborates the fact that 25th anniversary asics are being produced in 2016. Just a matter of why....
