I am signed up for the 1/2 marathon for the San Francisco Giant Race. Easily their best finisher shirt from the past couple years.

YES YES YES! I usually wear my race shirts casually maybe once or twice in a year. This one is so dope that I'd wear it at least once a month!
 
Went for a jog and it is boiling out. Took my *** right home after a few km. Better than nothing I supposed

So part of my favorite running shoes (Mizuno wave sayonara 2)'s sole pattern is coming off. I ran about 125miles in them and it's starting :{

Looked on amazon and they're being sold for $40 each! Can't believe how cheap they are, bought multiple pairs, Idk if I should stock up more or what 8o

Yes I'd stock up on a few pairs for that price. Another reason is year to year certain iterations of shoes change their platform rather it be cushioning or the upper. Sometimes it's not always a good thing as you might feel some drastic changes within the new model. This happen often when shoe manufacturers try to up the anty in new technology. Keep in mind that it's always good to have at least 2 pair of shoes in rotation. Here's a good article to back my theory. #4 Pertains to you...

$40 is a good deal. I stocked up once on a pair of running shoes I use to love, but it's always nice to try shoes with the new technology. 

Besides when a shoe starts falling apart, do you guys change shoes after an x amount of years or miles ran? I've had a pair of nike free run 2 and it still feels great after 5 years.

As long as they "FEEL" good to you without injury or fatigue you're fine. Likewise with new tech, I love to try different material and cushioning makeups of shoes. Looking at a pair of Saucony Triumph ISO 11s. Mixed reviews on them but they look so sleek and comfy....

i should really invest in some good running shoes :/

Yes definitely an investment to your body.

Still recouping from this groin pain. Havent ran in 2 weeks now. Wondering if i should attempt to do some light slow pace jogging or wait until all the soreness is gone??? This is my birthday month and was looking to have a high mileage month. Oh well gotta get right first....

I eat a peanut butter and honey sandwich about 30-45 minutes before.

I'm on pace to hit about 80.
I added 3 lift days and 3 basketball days into my workout schedule this past month. It's been killer on my legs and arms, but everything is feeling really good.

I'm 95 for the month...I'll probably end up around 125.

I tried on the Zoom Elite 8s today...I think that might be my next purchase to run in.  Those felt different, being the first time I wore a Zoom-in-forefoot-only shoe, but I think I liked it.  I'm curious what a Lunar heel/Zoom forefoot would feel like...might be my perfect shoe.
 
I'm planning to order my Elite8s sometime next week, but I don't plan on running in them [emoji]128541[/emoji]. I love the first cw!

I signed up with my coworkers to do the Spartan Super Race in Sacramento in Nov. Anyone here ever run one of these before? Any tips to prepare for one of these would be appreciated! 

I've never ran more than 5 miles at a time so I'm working on adding at least 2 miles/day to my gym routine and a longer outdoor run on the weekends. 

Any recommendations on a good running/trail running shoe for an event like this? 
 
Checking in. Recently started doing 5K every Sunday to sweat out any substances that enter my body over the weekend. I do circuit training every Tuesday, then gym on Thursdays as well. Need to add another day, but my schedule is too damn busy (excuses...).

As a person who NEVER really ran before.. I am now keeping track of my miles on the Nike Running app, really working on my time and I'll start using the tag soon.

Who is doing the nike womens half SF in here? 8o

i'm not doing it by i'll be there to support a friend of mine. i'm trying to train her to build up her endurance and stamina, we have very little hills here so we are going to go one day to SF and see the course for ourselves. but right now she's just trying to hit 13 miles in under 3 hours... so far she's at 11 mi in 2:40.

I haven't run the Super, but I did do the regular length Spartan and a Warrior Dash.  Honestly, I just cared about finishing, haha.  But I've injured my rotator cuff and can't do them anymore, so my advice is to just be careful.

As for shoes, use one that you don't mind trashing.  At the end, there's just a pile of them that people recycle.

But good luck to you!  They are very fun, once all is over with. 
 
Just sent the inquiry for the #NTrunning domed sticker emblems...

I asked for the separate cost for 12 pairs (24 individual) for each size to be made in either the long version (1.0" x 0.5"), which is suitable for newer Nikes, and two squared versions (1.0" x 1.0" and 1.25" x 1.25")...

I did my first trail run practice today. It was rough. 1:06 for a 4.82 mile run.

Trail running takes a bunch out of the legs.
