Muni, CalTrain, Bart are pretty far from USF. But there is always the bus. If your major is computer engineering, I'd go to Santa Clara.

If I were to get an internship in San Francisco, would it be too much of an inconvenience to travel there often on train/bus?

Santa Clara is in the heart of the Silicon Valley homie.. most internships would probably be closer to SC than SF... but the train to SF drops you off rightdowntown.. you're all good
