This is just Putin engaging in large scale historical revisionism. Can he point Germany on a 17th century map?
This whole exercise is just to drum up support among anti-western nation-states. This is why I don't think this annexation marks the end of Putin's endeavors in Ukraine (or anywhere he can reach western interests).

Ohh because Putin doesn’t try to destabilize Eastern European along with Russia since the 1600s? Yet most Eastern European peopel want to align with Western Europe and no Russia. When you’re a despot leader you can write your own history tho.
