Shooting Reported at Las Vegas Casino Hotel

Man they need to have some system that raises a red flag for that. Like "homie you got 10 guns right now a few bombs, **** you need this for??"

Every single thing I've seen posted except actually banning guns or maybe improving the mental health care system in this country would not have stopped those tragedies.

I do think there is going to be mass death from evil in this country no matter what.

If that sounds callous I apologize but humans have been killing other for a while now.
It's a straw man argument though.

Who here has claimed that evil would be eradicated by gun control?

Why can't we take steps to decrease the probability that events like this occur? Everyone keeps saying black market, but all these guns in these national tragedies are bought legally.

2 of my friends had family members (down the line) or friends of family members there.

:frown:::::

Edit: my friend, cousin's daughter good friend was killed

My friend, aunt's niece and husband, the husband was killed

Condolences

If it ever came to fighting the government, you think that you could just organize a gun battle against the government and duke it out like in the olden days?

You do know that we live in an age where the government has all kinds of weapons that can kill you, while they themselves are physically far away from you, right? Even guerrilla warfare tactics are obsolete when you can't actually get to your target, because the target is not there.

Meanwhile, all you have are weapons that would be useless in an all-out war against the government, but are pretty useful if you want to kill dozens of random innocent people.

I think if you read more of my posts you would have seen me saying civilians stand no chance, I'm more worried about armed militias. KKK and neo Nazis marched in my state. I'm not worried about no damn government.

The Vegas shooter was not a criminal and had no history of mental illness. He was also wealthy

What could have been done before hand to stop him?

To me the fact they were bought legally makes is why I don't think anything can be done to stop this stuff.

Vegas shooter had a bunch of guns but only used 2. Honestly one gun could have done this and given the shooters background I don't know what would have stopped guy.
If we banned these machine gun like weapons this would not have happened though....

Even completely banning guns wouldn't stop this, there are already millions of guns out there.

My question is how does gun control impede on lowering the probability? Because the fact that it wouldn't stop all gun violence is a non-answer.

Things that can be done that "could have prevented this" can be seen as if we had a registry of all firearms owned and once a certain quantity is reached you are either restricted from legally purchasing more weapons or you are screened and must be approved.

"But criminals would just buy illegally"
Just like the speed limit is 60 mph but most people do well over that, the law isn't there to prevent it from ever being broken. It's there as a guide

One would hope most gun owners are not criminals and are often more likely to follow the law of making sure things are registered.

It makes the process of buying those illegal guns more difficult for those who don't already have those weapons.
I'd assume going online to purchase an illegal gun would be as foolish as going online to purchase an illegal drug. Most people don't know a drug dealer personally and I'd think even less people know an illegal gun seller

You can turn a small handgun into a machine gun like firearm without a ton of effort or money.

I personally don't believe banning assault rifles would reduce how often this happens.

Those guns in the pictures don't sound like the ones being used in the video. There has to be an LMG that was used.
