I personally don't believe banning assault rifles would reduce how often this happens.

I feel like stuff like this always gets glanced over. People said they heard explosions on 9/11 and those were the initial news reports and it never gets discussed anymore. Multiple civil engineers have proved that the given story behind 9/11 is physically impossible. Supposedly building 7 which had minimal structural damage collapsed from fire as well. After researching the supposed chain of events that was necessary for a lack of military air support, anyone with a military background should see its BS. Fighter pilots are some of the sharpest individuals I've ever met in my life. Those "war-games" are their bread and butter and there's no way an event that extensive isn't planned out with the appropriate chain of command.

It's been proven beyond a shadow of the doubt that the government lied about the Gulf of Tonkin to start a war. It's been proven that the govt ignored warnings about Pearl Harbor to join world war 2.

Not even trying to go full tin foil mode, but at what point do you step back and recognize that an organization of doing shady things in the past, might be up to doing something shady again?

A handgun is not comparable to an assault rifle bro, modded or not. There be guaranteed less casualties. It holds smaller sized-bullet, less muzzle velocity, smaller caliber which all leads to a less lethal weapon. To add to that, reloading would make the process more tedious and slower which again decrease the overall lethality over a given period.

its really too late to do anything. more guns than people in this country. and it won't stop. big business...

if i ruled the world it would be simple. right to bear arms was a right given over 200 years ago....let it be anyone over the age of 21 to own either a rifle or revolver. Those who want to own have to register with the federal govt. any address that has more than 1 gun has to pay a tax per gun. and have no one with any mental issues, no one ever arrested/found guilty of a crime or plead guilty. ANY crime. also waiting period of 30 days and during those 30 days someone stops by your home to ask you questions and your family questions. yea if your wife off the record says this dude is a nut job he shouldnt have a gun guess what application rejected. wishfull dreaming

but thats why its a billion dollar a year business. people are stockpiling guns. i once worked with a guy from PA. he was under the mindset the day will come either war will take place on our great country or civil war breaks out. his mindset was im not going to put money in a 401k, i'm not going to keep more than a 4-5k in a bank i'm going to buy guns. this nut has 37 guns. he treats it as 1. won't lose value. 2. if there was a war his 37 guns would be worth more than gold. seeing how big guns are in this country makes me fear his mindset is shared by many. i just don't get how we can be selling so many guns to a population that is not growing at a great rate.

No matter what the issue is people are going to have differing opinions. No reason a respectable man should be wishing death on others cause they have differing opinion.

From what I've gathered in the thread so far, the majority of the people in here who support guns rights have gave out reasons that seem understandable, whether you agree with them or not. No one has flipped the script and wished death on your family in a situation where an owned firearm could have potentially protected them.

A rifle is more deadly than a handgun but a handgun is still pretty damn deadly.

The Virginia Tech shooter had all handguns didn't even fire into a mass of people and still killed 30+ people.

The Sandy Hook shooter killed half those people with handguns.

This guy thankfully left the damn bombs he had at home.

You guys keep telling me we need to do something and asking me for a solution. Well I don't know what the solution is just like I don't know how to cure cancer but I can tell you taking vitamins isn't going to do it.
