Shooting Reported at Las Vegas Casino Hotel

Why do so many people assume anyone who wants to illegally obtain a gun can ...especially suburban white people ... the same people who have a hard time getting bud which easier to get than guns are plugged in enough to be copping illegal firearms ? Let alone have the balls to actually meet up ? And most people can’t even operate a smart phone but there gonna be able to navigate the deep web ? rightttt

Because you don't need to go underground to own an illegal weapon

The same Bass Pro Shops and other outlets that sell guns sell the parts to create an illegal weapon

There are no serial numbers on incomplete lowers, it is not required to be tracked, and all the other pieces to make an AR are not firearm sales

Check websites, see how many have SOLD OUT incomplete lowers

But how many would have been killed if there were less laws?

How long are y'all gonna poke holes and offer little to no suggestions? Y'all say you're not saying you don't want to do nothing but gahdamn the only thing y'all have said is,"Nothing will prevent this from happening again. Nope, that won't work either.. These laws don't stop this issue so...."

I didn't say that at all.

but what are you going to do now?

You guys seem tor react to the shiny penny of mass shootings, but not the every day killing. How will you stop that? There's already 300+ million guns out here.

Re: electrical tape on guns to hide from metal detectors, bags are checked manually by a security guard upon entrance in those countries. While you're walking through the metal detector

There are harsh penalties for murder though. If there weren't or laxed ones akin to gun control do you think there would be less or more violent crime or murderers?

You're being intellectually dishonest. All of the gun-related violent crimes and murders already have harsh penalties. The lawbreakers don't care about those harsh penalties. Why would they care about a gun control law?

Follow your logic to its unavoidable conclusion. A person that has decided to shoot up a place and kill innocent people will stop and say "Well since congress passed that gun control legislation, I'm not going to do it anymore."

You really think that will happen?

You haven't read anything the past couple days if you think we're only reacting to mass shootings.

And from 1999-2005 there were an average of over 33k gun related deaths. So that means what?

It means that 30,000 are killed and people have to be forced to wear seatbelts even after Ralph Nader fought to have them installed.

Do people suggest that speed limits should go down?

Why not? Because there's not a mass shooting equivalent.

So no, there's nothing "crazy" about requirements to drive.

So is vehicle registration about them taxing you or a restriction?
I don't understand the question. There are reasons you want cars registered, so they can be properly tracked. Adminstration fees are used to pay for the infrastructure to provide the service, so it is charged to car owners instead of funded strictly through general funds. If you think they are too high, then a state government might be using that revenue to pug a hole in the budget.

Pretty sure pages ago I suggested the gun registry be funded with Federal dollars, so it will use general funds. The majority will subsidize the activities of the minority.

But let us ignore the laws mandating you train and prove you can operate a vehicle (different test for different types too), have to keep insurance to operate it, and have many laws that will get your car confiscated.

If the laws are not made with what law breakers are going to follow in mind, then what is the point of bringing up the debate every time a law breaker breaks the law? There are already laws against murder. They did zero to keep dude from murdering. Whatever penalty congress could create for illegal gun ownership will be far less than the penalty for murder. This really isn't complicated.

Bringing up what debate?
Who thinks up rules based on those who will break those rules?

This is the unfortunate reality. I understand why people want to try to find a solution, but some things are beyond legislation.

F*** it then huh? Let's not even make the next mass shooting a major tragedy. Might as well just mention during the sports segment of your local news.
"Jazz beat the Lakers 100-65 and John Smith killed 98 people today in Savannah."

I'm out of ideas, I'm ready to listen to the other side
You don't know how I react to every day killings. So let's leave that at that.

Again, this isn't about the guns already sold. This is about guns to be acquired

So the 33k annual gun deaths don't deserve any consideration or more stringent requirements to use and operate? It's not just about mass shootings for the 1000th time.

"You don't really care" is a piss poor response.
It is just a constant flow of deflections and whataboutisms with dude.

I would respect dudes a whole lot more if they just came out and said "I really like guns, so for selfish reasons I don't support anything that will make it hard for me to acquire more of them......I really don't care if I sound irrational, or about making society safer"

Someone needs to do a lawsuit against the NRA for wrongful death

And we need to overturn Citizens United

I guess its your way (gun control) or no way. Only two options. Honestly, I think that the media plays a big role in the glorification of gun violence. Movies, television, etc are all constantly playing images of gun violence and death. Also video games.

This, was wondering why folks are assuming copping a burner is easy.

Most mass shootings? No. But for people like Adam Lanza who shot up Sandy Hook, it was super convenient for someone with Asberger's and a host of other mental health issues to literally walk one room over and tool up with a semi-auto and pistols his mom owned.

Who knows what would have happened if he didn't have access to an AR. Dude was super disturbed. He may have grabbed a knife, slit his mother's throat and then nothing further. Can someone as sheltered and demented as that kid have the social wherewithal to turn to the streets for a firearm if he didn't have easy access at home? Who knows? It just seemed like a crime of opportunity. Severely unhealthy and evil young man has access to cache of weapons. The Columbine dudes on the other hand were a lot more calculated. They were going to make that happen regardless.

I know that's a longshot, but it makes you (or at least me) think.
