Miami Heat: We are continuing to hear that if the Bulls draft Derrick Rose with the No. 1 pick (which is looking more and more likely) they'll try to move the No. 2 pick for either a draft prospect like O.J. Mayo or a veteran point guard like T.J. Ford or Kirk Hinrich.

Of course, the Heat will want more than just a straight swap for giving up such a coveted pick. With so many teams in pursuit of a scoring forward like Michael Beasley, the Heat could really net a starter and a high pick or solid prospect. They could change their mind after Beasley comes in for workouts, but right now it's looking less likely that they'll draft at No. 2.

Michael Rosenberg of the Free Press writes that Chauncey is the most likely Pistons to be traded.
June 4, Detroit Free Press: Last summer, the Pistons invested up to $60.5 million in Mr. Big Shot. So why is he the most likely to go? A few reasons.

Dumars talked Tuesday about a lack of urgency in his players. Billups is as responsible for that as anybody. Dumars surely wants a renewed emphasis on defense, and Billups is the weakest defender among starters.

Billups is most likely to go because teams covet point guards more than other positions, and the Pistons have two.

The Pistons believe Rodney Stuckey can be an elite point guard -- sooner rather than later. Billups, meanwhile, is still an All-Star-caliber player. Anybody with a young roster and a hole at point guard would have to be interested in him.

So, with Joe Dumars looking to break up the current core of the Pistons, and Rosenberg's good reasoning about Chauncey being the most likely Starter traded, could some kind of deal sending Billups to Miami for the #2 overall pick be worked out?

If possible, the trade would look something like this: Detroit sends to Miami PG Chauncey Billups and PF Jason Maxiell and recieves Miami's first-round draft pick(#2 overall/Beasley), Marcus Banks and Mark Blount.

According to Chad Ford, several other teams are also looking to deal their first-round picks. For Piston fans, this could be the most exciting time leading up to the draft since 2003 when the Pistons took Darko Milicic with the #2 overall pick.

Billups, Wade, Marion does not make Miami good enough to do that deal, easy pass

That's what they said about Shaq too...
Shaq also has aged and doesn't have much left in the tank. Wade is still fairly young and is a superstar when 100%.

If you truly believe Miami would trade Wade, or for any reason believe that Bulls rumor

Two things.....first off, I disagree. If Miami made that deal, the bigger key would be Maxiell. The guy is a man-child. Billups/Wade/Marion/Maxiell ispretty formidable IMO.

Second, that deal would be ducktales since Detroit loves Maxiell. He's going nowhere.

China wants Yi in the bay area... or any other city with a huge asian population. They were never cool with the fact that Yi was drafted by Milwaukee.

So that means if the Heat traded for Hinrich, the Bulls would get the 1 AND 2 picks!?

Giving the Heat a lineup that includes Billups, Wade, Marion, and Maxiell? That's... man, that would be a problem for the East, no doubt aboutit.

Na he played at Lincoln and won a state championship with NT's favorite Sebastian Telfair. If Mase works his %+@ off this year and improves his ballhandling he could be a low second round pick and Burrell eventually could be a mid first rounder with proper coaching.

im sorry but if the pistons think trading billups is going to get them closer to a championship they are dead wrong. seems like joe dumars is desperate to makea trade. he is probably the one player they have who would get the ball towards the end of the game if they needed a basket.

I don't think that they should make any changes. I like the way the played the young players and the old players. I like the way the team is set-up. Ifeel that they are a team that is built to be good for many years. But like you I feel that trading Billups will hurt the team more then hlep them. He is therego to guy and leader how do you trade that.

From Joe Dumars' press conference....didn't he say that he wanted to compete every year for the championship? I don't think that trading Billupswill make them compete more than this year.
Rasheed and Prince will be dealt imo. Makes more sense to me...

Pistons will move Rasheed Wallace. Maxiell is going nowhere. By October he will acquire the moniker of Dwight Howard's kryptonite.

Yi's game is actually an ideal fit for GSW. With their quick guards and all these ball handlers having a 4 that will set high screens to roll to the rim orleak to the 18 footer would be a very new addition to their roster. I doubt the Bucks trade Yi. A frontline of Bogut and Yi sounds just fine to me. Why changethat?

It's funny to see Joe Dumars talk about he wants to compete year in and year out... Pistons fans like to hype Joe D like he's some guru... This mandrafted 17 year old Darko with the 2nd pick.

Then to make fans forget about that "little" mistake he gaveDarko away.

If we had drafted ANYBODY else from that draft instead of Darko we'd would have been in the finals every year since 2004.

Chauncey Billups
Richard Hamilton
Tayshaun Prince
Rasheed Wallace

Bosh, Melo, Wade or David West

No way in blue hell Riley is going to make this trade. Billups is on the decline and he's not worth a top 5 pick in such a deep draft.

If I was a GM in the NBA, I'd never answer phone calls from Joe Dumars. Dude has won a trade or two

I know he wont be moved but just for the sake of conversation, Maxiell is a nice player, but......

Billups, Wade, Marion and Maxiell is not a championship contender IMO
