Slideshows on websites=Cheap way to get more views?

Is that the reason everybody does articles/lists in the slideshow format?

Pretty much. Complex is notorious for this.

What gets me more is when you click on a link then it takes you to another page with basically the same links. Just blatant and I keep saying if it happens I'll close the tab - but then the link looks interesting and I follow it.

Never thought about it this way... But I've came across a few sites recently that do this.. Annoying IMO.
