Sober 2016

The weight and diabetes I knew about, but what's this about sodas causing ED? I have never heard that before
Man, it is safe to say anything that has low nutritional value can lead to ED and/or bad sperms.

If you just treat your food as if you are fueling a world class athlete you will chill with the sodas.

I don't want you to die man

Haven't drank any alcohol the past few months. I'm prescribed various sleeping medications and opiate painkillers so I had to cut back drinking alcohol when going out. I only drank alcohol when I went out to the bar/club anyway, never at home.

I figured I have enough poison in my body already (opiates, sleeping pills) on a daily basis so it would be best to cut out alcohol entirely.

I'd say it's a little less fun to go out without drinking alcohol but I'm kinda used to it now.

Best of luck to everyone in this thread. It definitely sucks at first but after a while you'll get used to it.

I used to go hard every Friday and Saturday in my early 20's, Go out, drink like it was a contest, get a pile of fast food on the way home, wake up and do it again. So pointless and a waste of time and money. Really wish I could go back in time to change my weekend routine to something more productive.

Thankfully I can go out maybe once a month and get a little tipsy and enjoy myself and that's it.

To everyone living or attempting to live the sober life

I drunk DAILY for about 2 years :x

Damn. Did that affect your health long term in anyway?

One of my friends who used to binge drink all the time recently quit drinking. Said he saw blood in his urine and stool. He saw a doctor but I didn't ask what he told him. He just told me he won't be drinking anytime soon.

Besides the constant head aches and feeling like **** every minute I didnt drink no .

I have a good job with good benifits.

I was paying the dentist something crazy though.

Once you get through the first month of withdrawal you feel a health youve never had before.

Truly an amazing feeling.

Alcohol is the seed to depression.

People who drink because theyre depressed are really depressed because they drink.

Im talkin to you @timidtebow

I dont drink alot.
But I do drink frequently. 3-4 times a week.
What I mean is I dont get s-faced.
Just have 1-2 with dinner and I'm good.
Mainly whiskey.

I've been feeling down lately, gonna stay away from drinking heavy though. A few years back I would get trashed or blackout drunk most weekends because I was stressed from school.

I'd been drinking too much soda lately. It never gave me ed though. Never heard of someone getting that from soda.

I never drank either when I was depressed

I never understood that

I always drank to make everything more fun

It is wild because I know plenty of people, my age, that drink SOMETHING 4+ times per week. I don't think they would classify themselves alcoholics. Or even functioning ones.

let me say this. i've never heard of anyone going unscathed.

I've been told by various medical specialists that alcohol is much worse for the body than the opiate painkillers prescribed to me.

It's certainly very underestimated how bad alcohol really is for your health. I didn't even know you can just die from alcohol withdrawal.

Technically, using morphine daily, following doctor's orders obviously, is less damaging for your health than drinking alcohol daily.

Tried to do dry january, made it to the 10th.

Pretty sure im an alcoholic but honestly, until i feel my health, professional, or private life are suffering ill continue to drink heavily.

physiologically, heavy alcohol use is one of the worst drugs.
also, the frequency of your alcohol use does not necessarily determine dependence or abuse.

i've been clean and sober for a long time. heavy alcoholic and meth user. now i'm a certified substance abuse counselor and i oversee a large residential facility. anyone trying to quit drugs/alcohol, i wish you the best of luck. feel free to pm me if you have any questions or just want to talk about sobriety.
