They really wouldn’t let Finn get with Rey though. They would rather her fall for the guy that kidnapped her and tried to kill her than the good guy that risked his life trying to defend her. Gave Finn a forced love interest. That kiss between Finn and Rose looked so awkward between Boyega and Tran

Kylo was an amazing character in TFA but what they did to him in TLJ was horrible. They had a chance to give him deep reasoning as to why he converted to the darkside but nope, my uncle tried to kill me so I hate everyone now.

But little Annie Skywalker being separated from his mom, having premonitions that she was dying, not acting on those premonitions and her actually dying and being angry because he wasn’t allowed to act on those premonitions while falling in love and then having premonitions about his pregnant wife dying and doing everything possible for them not to come to fruition even joining the darkside only for it to be a self fulfilling prophecy and his pregnant wife dying because of that is frowned upon. OH BOY!

I didnt care for the creepy sneak in tent thing either, but I'm interested in his conflictedness in what he's doing and being one of the few to reject the doctrines of the force completely. Adam Driver is doing a great job selling that as well

Driver’s acting I have no qualms with at all. It’s why he was chosen to deliver the “speech” that explained the whole direction of the film and why it purposely subverted all expectations. Speech was so meta the only thing it was missing was him looking in the camera. Him calling the Resistance the Rebels

Let's make sure to leave out being born with no father, a poor portrayl by Hayden, his wife dying because she was sadz, and Yoda saying he was too old to train at 8, but we already went thru that with Luke, at 20+. I'll ignore the only killed kids and in 3 films was Vader for 2 minutes.....

I don’t find idea of immaculate conception being to random when Anakin is being touted as the chosen one. Hayden’s performance is very in line with how I would imagine a child prodigy that grew up to become a teenager to be. Over confident in himself and devoid of emotion until something happens to his mommy and his wifey. Yoda was too old to train. You don’t think he made an exception for Luke however because of what happened to Anakin? You’re ignoring the separatist too while undermining the death of kids that answered to Anakin. Being Vader for 2 minutes is fine when you have 3 films of Vader being Vader. The prequels were for how Vader came to be and the story is tragic yet fitting. Losing everything no longer made him human. He just became a machine with immense power.

Some of these nitpick about the prequels and Anakin aren't even why they were bad.

What particularly sucks about it is Driver is pretty much a great actor and the overall goal of Kylo is a good and nuanced one that would work if executed better.

We saw Jedi’s die at the hands of the empire. We could infer that the time between RotS and ANH was when remaining Jedi were hunted down and killed. There’s nothing wrong with building up the person behind the mask. That’s where the emotion of him looking like bbq chicken on mustafar and screaming to Obi-Wan “I hate you” is meant to hit you. You never saw that passion for anyone. Not padme, not his mother. But for obi-wan, Anakin became a broken man. Same with Obi-wan. You didn’t even see that emotion from him with Qui-Gon dying in front of him. Those frolicking in the grass scenes are there to show you that Annie was a person that had this huge task on his plate and he failed. And him failing killed everyone. The person he was. The person Obi-wan was. Padme. The Jedi council. Little Annie just wanted to race pods man Kylo’s story was insanely intriguing at first but now it’s complete garbage. This is Disney, and unless Kylo is going to kill Rey and take over the Galaxy, look forward to his feelings for Rey converting him to the light or him dying for her nowhere near Vader’s story. Kylo has no responsibility. His mother is a damn princess.

But Vader killing Jedi isn’t something that led to Vader being who he was. He was already Vader when he massacred Jedi. We want to see what led to Vader, the chosen Jedi getting to that point. The prequels aren’t perfect but they get way too hate. Much better than anything we’ve seen from this new trilogy.

Kylo story is not better then Anakins. Technically Anakin did duel dooku twice and decapitated him. More then what Kylo has done. There is more story on Anakins potential when they are discussing pod racing about him being the only human who can do it then Kylo in two movies.
