STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Anyone here have any tips on dealing with a torn adductor muscle besides surgery?
Rest, OTC meds and foam rolling would be the first things to do.

Ive been dealing with an abductor injury here lately and Ive just had to cut back my volume and intensity on squats as well as only squatting once a week right now.

This whole non-dairy thing is rough at times. But clear skin and no stomach aches makes up for the food.....most of the time.
If you arent lactose intolerant an isolate or high quality blend should suit you fine. Crappy protein and gainer used to screw my stomach up too.

I've been lifting for over 10 years with bad form because we had crappy coaching in school. I really got into watching YT to correct my form and minor tweaks can make a huge difference. Do you have shoulder issues by chance?

No sir. Im all good

So guys i just changed my supplement from Gold Standard to syntha 6 and i have started to get pimples is that in any way related to one another?

Why the hell would you swtich from gold standard to syntha 6? Again, ill never understand the syntha-6 bandwagon. That crap is 50% protein. Your'e probably better off eating a cheeseburger.

Anyway - its probably because it has a higher dairy content. Whey concentrate has the highest dairy content, which is the first ingerdient in Syntha 6. It gives a lot of people issues. If you bought it from a brick and mortar take that crap back, they all take returns.

Wrist wraps is mandatory for me at this point. Fighting lingering wrist pain. Hurt it playing basketball and aggravated it twice lifting.

I should've been using wrist wraps this whole month. Better late than never I guess.

By the way, it's crazy how quickly I got back to the swing of things.

Was on a roll prior to my 11 day break from working out. Came back, felt sluggish like **** for a week and all my lifts and time was subpar to my standards for that week. I thought, oh it's going to take a month to get back into shape.

But a week and change later, I'm surprising myself with some of my gains. I'm putting 10-25 pounds on some of my pre-vacation maxes. I'm not even getting winded when all the week before, the workouts felt like death.

Bodies work strangely sometimes.

Its crazy what a break will do.  I have had the same thing happen.  It was so nice not feeling sore and just pushing through routines.  Actually being excited and fully focused the whole work out.

^Yea, it's pretty crazy. Hopefully I can keep going for a little while before I hit that wall. If only my wrist wasn't holding me back :{

It depends on the grade of the tear, but it's not as simple as letting it return to "normal" on it's own. The tear happened for a reason, and until that is addressed, problems will continue to happen. Smaller problems snowball into larger ones down the road. I can probably recommend a good manual therapist in your area. If you're interested, send me a PM.

Made a post the other day about a minor injury. My left shoulder has been giving out or becoming fatigued when performing rows, bench press, OH press, etc. No real pain associated with it, just fatigue. I have some dull pain in the middle of of shoulder blade and stiffness/strain from my sternum on the left side to the side of my ribs.

At first I thought it could be my rotator, but I have full ROM and no pain. It's just tightness on the left chest and ribs with weakening of the shoulder and occasional tingling down my left arm and fingers.

I've narrowed it down and think it might be an issue with a weak serratus anterior. How would I go about strengthening this muscle?

I had surgery in 2002 and they had to cut into it, so I think that might be related to why I'm now having issues. Although I hate taking time off, I figured I would take this week off to let it rest.

Well I mean that pretty much doesn't narrow it down :lol

Off the top of my head you've got, nutrition, physical education, health, physical therapy, exercise management, outdoor rec science, rec management, and list goes on.

Power to you though bro. Exercise and health is a business that will never go away

Physical Therapy if you want to make a living and open your own practice. PT school is tough. Like mini-med school.

The others have shorter routes but you have to hustle, it's an industry that will never go away but it's also swing or miss. In America there will always be people trying to get fit, people that get hurt trying to get fit...etc vicious cycle. Good luck. Not a bad path. Do something you love.
