STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

I dont like the idea of paying $15/lb for dry and salty angus meat on purpose :lol

i'd rather just buy more steak to be honest.

thats just me though... if jerky was cheaper, i'd be all over it.

Almost got pinned while trying to bench 3 reps of 215. Got one up then got stuck on the 2nd one. Flipped the bar to the side and had the whole gym looking at me when all the weights fell. SMH. That's what I get for not using a spotter. Can't believe I can't rep 215 with ease at my weight. Way too weak.

Its all good bro, when I first started lifting I got pinned with 190 and a random dude walked up and just started taking plates off each side

Anyone want to give me a layout for working out again? Trying to lose 30-50 pounds.

Getting pinned is kind of right of passage haha

Only time I was 100% committed to the spotter was decline bar bench. Was always paranoid I'd crush my neck. That one dude from USC had that happen a while back and I learned from that.

A kid who lived next door to my aunt and uncle died while benching. He was trying to max out alone and dropped the bar on his neck.

It happens to all of us man, like Hyper said its kind of a right of passage. I've had to the do the dreaded roll of shame once or twice when I first started lifting lol

I'll def be getting a spotter on anything near the heavy side from now on. It's not like I was trying to max out or do a weight that I've never done before though. Just got a little over-confident -- should've racked it after completing the 1st rep.

I was more worried about someone being next to me and me dropping a weight on his foot or something :lol

I've been pinned before when I first started lifting.. I think it was 185 or something can't remember.. Hasn't happened since and I always use a spotter now.  Now i can get 225 x 5.... Been stuck on 225 forever tho

Finally hopped on a scale to measure my progress and I've went from 120 lbs to 141 lbs in a month and 3 weeks.
21lbs in under 2 months?  Sounds like you're putting on a lot of fat not muscle

I know someone who died from this as well. Doesn't help that dude was drinking beer while benching. Dude was 24 at the time smh

Whenever I bench, I never put the clamps on so I can just slide the weights off if needed
