STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

weird. i got a cancellation email for this on Saturday saying the item was discontinued.

checked my emails today and saw that it shipped. :hat

same here, except i noticed last night the order was restocked so i talked to one of their reps about why they cancelled my order. ended up shipping me two orders (4 tubs total, 18.4lbs of protein :eek) of it for 45 total. :smokin

Quick question, on cardio days do you guys eat more to reach your caloric intake or do you guys not log the calories burned during cardio...?

Me personally I log it but I don't eat what was burned it defeats the purpose of why I did the cardio, which is not for me to eat more but to create a larger deficit

its way too thick and taste like a bad milkshake. it takes me years to get it all down, no romo.

Is having this type of schedule bad? If so, how to adjust?

Chest/Back

Shoulders/Traps/Abs

Bis/ Tris

? I heard chest and back on same day is best way to get ultimate growth, or at least thats what Arnold says.

This one gentleman I see at the gym every morning in the locker room always stands naked, puts his leg on a bench, and puts lotion on his penis with 2 hands. And he really be strooooooking it too.

It is pretty

Switching to a four day lifting split in about a week. It's time for something new.

Sunday: Chest
Monday: Legs
Tuesday: Back/Shoulders
Wednesday: Cardio/Rest
Thursday: Biceps/Triceps
Friday: Cardio/Rest
Saturday: Rest

I'm doing to do calves, and abs twice a week. Probably on Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

hi. my name is urple. can anyone help me out with a basic routine? im  5'10 145. never really lifted. just looking to get stronger and faster.

i need a beginners routine and any advice to help me get started. thanks brodies. ill start being active in this thread.

Apologies if this has been dealt with previously, but has anyone here taken ZMA? If so, what were your thoughts?

Not a fan of ZMA, but zinc and magnesium supplementation can be very beneficial, especially if deficient. I prefer chelated forms of the minerals such as glycinate, taurate, gluconate, etc. Oxide, citrate, and aspartate aren't so good because of poor absorption and a few other issues.

I don't believe the behind the neck pulling/pressing is a problem. In fact, if you can't do it, you have some issues to take care of(adhesions, mechanics, mobility). The people that are telling you not to work behind the neck are the same ones telling you to sit on the couch instead of doing anything remotely "dangerous", use no more than 5 lbs for rotator cuff and scapular strengthening, and only move in linear patterns. Yes there are risks to it, but there are risks to many other regarded "safe" patterns.

Most people in gyms aren't strict on form and tempo, use bad ROM, and don't know a thing about balancing out the musculature. When they get hurt, they blame it on 1 movement pattern: the one that they did right before the pain started. They ignore the years of bench press syndrome, lack of strength in certain musculature, and not doing mobility training that actually caused it.

spring break and im spending it with the homies in houston, and eating will be not as clean as it was before. I am going to enjoy myself but still make sure i am eating somewhat good, good carbs and what not.

After i get back to campus though, its game over for this stubborn fat and time to grow MF grow!

That's the same split I do. Except I do abs every time I'm at the gym. About 12 sets per body part. I get in six lifts a week just about every week, so I'm doing each body part twice a week. I skip legs because I run 30+ miles a week. My growth has been explosive over the past year since I really started dedicating myself again.

I usually do

Legs
Chest/Tri
Back/Bi
Shoulder/Tri/Traps

Basically my routine as well

Yep lol mine too. I do dead lifts on thier own days too. I'm basically in the gym 5 or so days a week.

And looks like that dude with a PHD likes behind the head pull downs. It makes sense what he is saying though.....behind the head you have to go lighter but activates more of your lats....where pull down in front of your head activate chest muscles allowing you to go heavier on them. Seems like a decent sculpting exercise

I have bad shoulders already....so i will avoid....but more power to the people who want to do them.

Finally sacked up and did legs last night.  Definitely need to grab some Epsom salt and take a soak.  Just general fatigue from being overworked during the day time as well as family stuff.  Toss the gym in there and it's a combination for a worn out me, lol.

Massage treatment may be called for as well.

Just signed up for the Warrior Dash....just doing 5k running plan for now..I was doing the "bizzy diet" weight plan, thinking about switching it up. Any suggestions/training tips for the race?

Anyone doing 5/3/1 by Jim Wendler?

This is my 2nd go around with it, did one a couple years back. Feeling super good! Deads and Squats are my best lifts by far (dislocated my shoulder late October)

I've recently upped my protein intake and seriously has made me feel better in the gym.

Watching so much CampbellFitness has made me more interested in 5/3/1 :lol

Think i'll give it a go after I finish KG's 12 week and DTP after that.

Today was leg day, finally bucked up and did squats (which I hate, since my balance is awful and I can't put it properly on my back = poor form)
Felt great, although I went light obviously. I felt great, and now I feel more sore than usual :lol :smokin

Have you tried front squats? I found front squats to be more forgiving on form depending on which grip you use.

Guys I strained my neck pretty bad after a shoulder workout Tuesday.
I didn't even know that I did until I woke up the next morning with the most painful, stiff neck.

No Gym the last 3 days and it hasn't gotten better. I've taken pain killers, done the icy hot patch, Tylenol, gotten a massage.

Woke up this morning still in pain. ******g sucks because I wasn't even lifting heavy, I dropped my weights in all workouts to do slow proper form and stretch/contract. I still somehow messed up probably on the overhead press.

Any tips on how to recover? Anyone done the same? I miss the gym man, but i can barely move it i aint gonna go and snap my neck.
I got a wedding to attend tomorrow and I'm afraid I'm about to show up walking like Frankenstein. :{

Sorry for whining guys, I've stayed out of here since it happen. DIdnt wanna bother anyone but I thought it'd be gone by now...
