Media members need to be held accountable
Exactly!!! Every single NBA has a blooper reel.

Frankly, I don't understand the desire people have to **** on this man simply because he didn't live up to lofty expectations. He stayed in the NBA for ~ 12 years, so clearly he was serviceable and capable of something.

...

Again, Michael Jordan gets a pass.

Like Kwame said, instead of bashing KWAME BROWN, why don't we send all this negativity in the direction of Michael Jordan.

I swear he gets a pass for EVERYTHING.

Good point about folks not bringing up ANdrea Bargnani's name.

Send all that hate to those dudes.

 @ Kenyon talking about he didn't pay attention to the media. Athletes have to stop telling that lie man.

What is MJ getting a pass for? Drafting Kwame in the first place when he shouldnt have?

 Big lie, that's why people appreciate Kwame responding realistically.

Also I don't think MJ wanted Kwame, but Abe Pollin forced it. He wanted to trade the pick for prime Elton Brand and that makes sense. Old MJ would want to come into a ready made team, no time to develop young talent. Bad basketball decisions all around, Kwame would have been better in another environment.

He late to the black wall street party. Looking uncomfortable on air in that jacket too. Stop the pandering you’ve already been exposed.

But if we are being real, I do question how many white folks WOULD want to see an Asian dude that doesn't speak English (if in fact Ohtani doesn't) being pushed as the Main Star of the League.

I don't think he is "wrong" in thinking most white folks WOULDN'T want to see THAT, but I'm not sure if I would have publicly said that if I had his platform.

I am not saying it is RIGHT for the League to do that, but they are probably only thinking about how this affects the Bottom Line.

Baseball in general has always had a problem marketing their young stars. Mike Trout is white and casual fans probably have no idea who he is and how elite his trajectory has been (before injury this year). MLB struggled marketing a three time MVP

Ohtani needing an interpreter isn't the issue nor any of the other players with english as their 2nd language imo and yeah I get the majority of the MLB fanbase in America is white and conservative.

Most conservative white fans aren't boycotting and canceling anything, they bark more than they bite, just like the NBA and NFL. As long as you "entertain" them on the field is good with them

But is the issue with marketing the young stars or marketing the SPORT?

People just don't give a damn about baseball in general. The same is slow, the game is long, the game has traditionally been seen as white and boring. (Of course the white part isn't as MUCH of a reality as it once was)

So I think before they improve the promotion of individual players, they have to find a way to get people to care for their overall product.

It is both. You can improve the sport by selling the stars to broaden your viewership

MLB is coming to a head where you're either going to keep this same old dying fanbase or grow it. The culture of unwritten rules needs to die (that would be marketing the sport in a much better and inviting light)

but all in all the sport of baseball is what it is. so you need to put these guys on the forefront to sell the sport not the other way around. You promote the game by promoting the main piece of the product, the players (in my opinion)

I feel you.

In terms of the actual SPORT though, what can be done to make it more interesting for the non-fans? (If that is even possible)

Aint no one care about baseball. Only people who grew up into it and don't know any better. You give people options and they wont pick baseball.

RE: SAS

Funny thing will be how long it will take him to apologize.

But he still couldn't apologize to Kwame like Etan Thomas has been saying all along.

But it's just funny how me buckles under pressure for EVERYONE else but his own.
