Kobe's play has been selfish and ridiculous. But it is not the only thing holding a team that starts Carlos Boozer, Wes Johnson, and a passive Jeremy Lin back from anything significant.

Enjoy Kobe's career winding down like this if you want, but don't make it out to be more than it is.
You mean the same Jeremy Lin that hung 38 on the Lakers a few years back, while being coached by D'Antoni?  That guy?

Lebron is a business man if he doesn't get things his way he'll dictate whatever the hell he wants to do wouldn't surprise me if this team don't get a chip within this contract to 2016 he leaving I wouldn't put it past it

Magic slandered MDA nonstop last year but he thinks shooting tons of long twos on offense and fouling at the highest rate in the league on defense is exciting basketball.

Annnd he thinks Miami is a championship contender.

Someone take Magic's phone away.

No.

Pay attention to more than how bad Kobe looks when you watch the game.

That's not the same Jeremy Lin.

The Jeremy Lin that hung 38 on the Lakers a few years back didn't dribble up the court fixated on passing it to Kobe half the time, instead of running a play. He didn't play in a system with no spacing. He attacked the rim with purpose.

If Jeremy Lin was anything close to that player, the Lakers wouldn't have him in the first place, because Houston wouldn't have given him up for nothing.

You meannnnnn how he wasn't a pivotal player and leader in 5 championship squads.... how his "glaring" & "tantrums" stopped his team from winning all these years.. I understand ya'll dislike Kobe.. cool but i can't be the only one who notices how stupid it is to say someone with one of the highest winning percentages in league history (all while being a MAJOR option) doesn't play team basketball. Ya'll claim up & down how Kobe hurts the team, yet records show otherwise.
Kobe a leader on those championship runs?

Or did you forget that Phil Jackson was coaching those teams, which kept continuity and focus?

You seem to forget that even Phil himself said that Kobe lacks those same leadership qualities needed in order to elevate his teammates, so that they'd be willing to follow him.

As of now, nobody will follow him to a strip joint, let alone a win.

So that means that Kobe should back off, then letting Lin gain the confidence needed, so that he can do his thing ala NYC, right?

Or should Kobe simply continue to stand on the wing and say gimme, look, whoohooo, *clap clap*, right here . . . .

J Lin hasn't "done his thing ala NY" since he left NY that initial magical week happened. If he had, Houston NY would have never let him go.

So Jeremy Lin is the key to Lakers' success, but Kobe's holding him back. Got it.

Nope, not saying that. But team unity and building confidence is the key to any team's success.

D'Antoni's offense gave Lin confidence that year in NYC, and players encouraged him to do his thing.

LIN is still riding the "linsanity week" that went on about 2 years ago against the worst teams in the NBA

He should write espn a thank you letter for his success. Got everyone fooled

There is no key to success for this Lakers' team. Boozer, Wes, Lin, Ronnie Price, Wayne Ellington, and Sacre are not gonna be magically way more successful with more "confidence" and shots.

Kobe's not doing them any favors by shooting all day, but those favors wouldn't help his teammates this year be better anyway, so what's the big deal?

If they, the other players, do not matter, then I hope that they figure out than fans such as yourself only want to see Kobe shoot the ball.

I'd love to see them simply run to the opposite side of the court when Bryant has the ball, then stand and watch with their arms folded.

Do you think that Kobe would get the message then?
