The Boondocks Season 4 Adult Swim Bump

the thing is you have in a sense to different audiences of the show.... the ppl who more or less look for the minstrel aspect and draw humor and lol at the jokes and making fun of social and racial stereotypes and equalities.

Then you have the ppl who look at the satire and irony of said aspect and enjoy the social commentary and social/societal consciousness the cartoon brought and its witty take on it.

Aaron was able to do both.... he could draw in the huey mindset type fans... and the riley type of fans. This season so far they are kinda doing one or the other and so far haven't had the ability to merge both mindsets/fan bases within a single episode.
That being said, you can tell it's missing. Tbh, it seems a bit gratuitous while it's still funny. The best way to put it is how Dave Chappelle explained how he thought when people were laughing at the jokes for the wrong reasons. That's how I feel about this season.

yo they prolly rustle some black women with this episode I see some women act like this at my job just to have a dude in their life.....

I feel like with women writers on the show they are taking jabs at their own insecurity ( hair and finding a man) instead of satiriising the whole black experience

the bitter best friend OMG I see that with some of my wife friends just hate on sight anything anybody else is doing

This episode was better. Decent lulz. The white girl at the end. Rukus "The only thing more effective than pouring water on their hair" :rollin The old ladies beating up grandad was funny too. The first 15 minutes of the episode were terrible though.

Last episode was alright. Wonder how long this story arc with Robert trying to get his life back in order is going to last?

that's exactly what this reminds me of...Chappelle season 3. Its like I would bet to wager the current writers...are majority of another race, or black ppl who aren't really in touch or in tune with the everyday nuances, struggles, etc... that encompasses the day in day out life of being black in America. Its like they are taking typical stereotypes and common used generalizations and trying to come off as Aaron does.

I saw the first 3 episodes of this season, and haven't went back to the DVR to watch the rest yet :lol

Watched the Katrina episode of Boondocks the other day and my goodness i forgot how funny it was :lol. I swear it's like McGruder was in New Orleans when that happened and filmed everything

YOOO I had seen every episode except for the "Breaking Bad" episode. I just watched it and :rollin :rollin :rollin classic episode in my opinion, easily the best of this season

Man...I'm starting to side with rusty shackleford...

This **** is kinda lame.

The uncle Ruckus appearances are extremely OD.

"We got 200gs *****, let's roll" :lol

been watching old eps, had me dying all over again.

the passion of reverend ruckus is legit gold all the way through.

I've only watched the first Twp episodes so far, but just based off that everything seems dumbed down. I laugh here and there, but there's no real message, just a bunch of slapstick jokes and n-words.

I knew the Yamb Gawd would see it too. :lol

The show isn't bad per se. But it is not the Boondocks. Everything is off.

But someone on Reddit mentioned that these first couple episodes might be filler, aka episodes produced at the later date to fulfill the 20 episodes Adult Swim contracted them for. That's we there is a overarching story line

And that better episodes might be on the horizon because word is the Boondocks was intentionally delayed so it could serve as a lead in to Black Jesus

Best episode of the season tonight, which is no saying a lot.

Writing was still weak, but it had a funny premise and Ruckus mentioning the BBC was :lol
