The Boondocks Season 4 Adult Swim Bump

I don't think there's an agenda. The writers just suck at the task they've been given: write what you think Boondocks should be. But there is no message, terribly obvious satire...just bad
I feel like they tried but they don't have the connection to the characters like McGruder. It's probably hard at least I would think to try and write the show for a season while compared to Aaron who's created the shoe and gave the characters growth throughout his time with the show

the satire is obvious but the lulz aren't there.  they only got half the equation.

potential theory: perhaps unfamiliarity with the culture makes the satire obvious and so the lulz less?

anything Ruckus related is hilarious. main reason I wanna see this civil rights episode.

Kardashian episode might be good too, but if they **** up both of these premises, I'm going DVR for the rest of the season and watching when I'm bored.

the thing is you have in a sense to different audiences of the show.... the ppl who more or less look for the minstrel aspect and draw humor and lol at the jokes and making fun of social and racial stereotypes and equalities.

Then you have the ppl who look at the satire and irony of said aspect and enjoy the social commentary and social/societal consciousness the cartoon brought and its witty take on it.

Aaron was able to do both.... he could draw in the huey mindset type fans... and the riley type of fans. This season so far they are kinda doing one or the other and so far haven't had the ability to merge both mindsets/fan bases within a single episode.

I thought the episode was funny and that's all that matters to me. Previous seasons definitely had worse episodes.

My only real gripe is that A Pimp Named Slickback didn't make an appearance and no lesson was learned.

But I'm positive that the days of episodes having morals is done and over with. It's just bland satire reaching for cheap lulz now.

Episode was hilarious.

So many lulz throughout. Some of you guys hyping previous seasons up.

Guarantee if they didn't announce Aaron wasn't participating it would be less complaining.

And I guarantee if they told you McGruder was still there, you'd believe it.

Some people have an eye for this sorta thing, some don't and take everything for what they're told it is..

..Which is exactly how the media likes it viewers.

I could care less. Show was entertaining and still is.

Nope and Nope.

Watch a episode from a previous season. Then watch one from this season right after it. You will notice the differences instantly

Wasn't the worst episode ever, but it sure as hell is light years away from being one of the best.

Ol' boy on the last page that said that they're forcing the satire without successfully accompanying it with actual humor hit the nail on the head. A lot of the dialogue feels unnatural and Huey hasn't kicked an ounce of knowledge in four episodes. There are slight amounts of improvement though, so I'll keeping holding out on the probably hopeless chance that these are the worst episodes of the season.

since this whole season is just about one issue, im thinking huey is gonna give a long *** lecture in the end.

:lol yooo I just watched the episode. I like the beginning a lot. It was pretty funny to me, the ending was pretty stupid though, but the white girl at the end was funny af :lol

Saw the last ep. I was amused. Season on the upswing maybe...  Still dumb ideas for story but funny nonetheless

so far the season been ok. personally though it feels like they're pushing the envelope at certain times like with last week's episode.
