The College Basketball Post

Cal a tier 2...?!

C'mon man...10 Sweet 16s, 8 Elite 8s, 4 Final 4s, and a Title (should be two if Memphis could make free throws)

Definitely tier 1.

Juwan Staten and T.J. Warren the most underrated players in the country. This applies to the average CBB fan, not you guys.
Not "most underrated" but guy that doesn't get enough pub/love...Cameron Bairstow from New Mexico...dude is a major match-up problem, look out for him in NCAAT.

Kendall Williams is my guy. Looking forward to Saturday's showdown at SDSU.

Williams, Bairstow, Kirk. New Mexico is an Elite 8/Final 4 sleeper.

Makes you wonder if you take a coach like Coach K and have him lead those john wall/this years squad. Outside of that year with anthony davis where uk were by far the best team in the country, what has cal really done?
uh he's joking.

He's making fun of the people who think he is leaving or will be fired.

Jokes on me but not really?

Lesbihonest. We know damn well he's thinking about his next move, whether it's this offseason or next, so that response wasn't too far fetched.

I just think the brand he's created is bad for college ball. I don't look at last year as an anomaly, I think seasons like last year and this year are going to be the norm from here on out.

Not sure how I'd feel as a UK fan or alum with the product Cal's been putting out where you're re-upping every year and it's still 'Ship or bust, but it's been less 'Ship and more bust, and a coach who's really only concerned about the next business venture to fall into his lap.

Be real with yourself as well: do you honestly consider Cal to be an elite coach? Personally, I think he's a tier 2 coaching talent.

1 bad season, still won 20 games last season, and Cal is no longer an elite coach?

Did you guys forget John Wall's team went ice cold from behind the arc vs West Virginia in the Elite 8?

Did you guys forget Cal outcoached Thad Matta and Roy Williams the following season to make it to the Final 4 with a squad people thought would be upsetted in the first round? Ohio St & UNC were the front runners for the title that year.

Almost 550 wins and a winning % of .760 ... come on guys

Not to mention last year's team would have made the dance w/ Nerlens being healthy.

Cal had a 90% win percentage his last 4 years at Memphis

Tier 2 :lol
700

Good recruiter, think he's an overrated X's and O's coach though. Don't think he's up there with the likes of K, Boeheim, Izzo, Bo Ryan, Pitino.

Yes I just included Bo Ryan in the elite class of current coaches.

All Cal needs to do is switch up his recruiting a lil bit and hes good...instead of that extra top freshman, bring in one of those solid transfers/5th year players ....no more Guillespie hold overs as veterans and we all see a team of straight Freshmen gonna have their struggles

Ulis - Booker - Lyles - Towns are better than the '13 class. Yeah, I said it.

Lyles/Towns alone is going to do so much for UK, those two are going to dominate 99% of college bigs and both have range to stretch the floor

Nothing wrong with that statement. It's a lot more balanced class, you have a true PG, a legit shooter, and 2 big man who can take you inside and out.
