The College Basketball Post

yeah it's hype. But they did have a good season and rose above their expectations and competed nicely in the big ten. They'll build off of last season. Only replacing two starters. And bringing in solid talent. They'll be contenders next year for sure.

:lol @ yall really buying this Maryland hype

I'm buying it...to an extent. I Think this will be a top 10-15 team all of next year. Could be a team that makes a deep tourney run. I don't think Turgeon is a good coach at all. Good recruiter though. He's Josh Pastner. He benefited from a weak year in college bball and especially the Big10

Still, good to see my Terps with a lineup on paper that's as good as any team in the country. This should be the norm though.

I'm intrigued :hat

If having one of the best point guards in the nation, one of the best power forwards in the nation, McDs AA center, potential first round pick senior wing, and Sulaimon in the starting lineup with a strong and experienced bench is hype, I'll buy in...

I agree that next year seems strange because the top two teams on paper have been down - Maryland and UNC are going to be very good.

Some will probably say the same thing about us, but I'm not buying Carolina.

Here's how I see the top five for 2015-16.

1. UNC

2. Maryland

3-5 (in no order) - ISU, KU, Duke

UK, UVA, Oklahoma all right there too.

Y'all realized you haven't seen him play in over a year, right? Friend of mine is very close to the program, says that he was by far the best player on the team last year in practices. Seems like a lot of the top big men in the country are headed to the draft and I wouldn't say this incoming freshman class is remarkable. Don't see my comment being as far off as some of you think...

He's not at UK, Duke or UNC though, so I get it...

Well, I could care less about UNC, UK or Duke.

There's never been a transfer in the history of CBB that didn't tear it up in practices.

Hold up,what's these rumors about Swanigan leaving Sparty because Izzo wouldn't give him a separate room and a personal chef?? :lol

Who is coaching UK next year when Cal leaves for the Pelicans job? Did Shaka take the Texas job too early?

I hear you on that...However, he is a proven double-digit scorer from a major conference who has had an entire year to work on his game. He also fits in extremely favorably with the perimeter players on this team. Should be getting a lot of easy baskets.

:lol at the Pelicans being able to match the Cavs or UK's offer.
This is true, however, the allure of getting to coach (again) one of the best basketball players on Earth who isn't even close to his prime yet has to be appealing. Substantially less pressure than both the Cavs job and UK job as well.

I feel you, I just don't see him leaving UK for a small market team like the Pelicans.

Cal doesn't like to lose and it's not like FAs are lining up at the door to come play in New Orleans either.

Chicago & Cleveland are the two locations I would keep an eye on if they opened up.
