I'm pretty sure that North Carolina would take Duke and that school is Raleigh with them.

Former UNC chancellor Holden Thorp discussed the ACC's Grant of Rights agreement with The OG's Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio. He said North Carolina could have gone to the SEC around 2011.

This all started damn near 20 years ago when the ACC raided the Big East for football purposes. Now they finally reaping what they sewed.

Big east football was mid outside of Virginia tech, Miami and the 3 years Syracuse was good. VT and Miami’s programs needed a bigger conference. Should’ve left BC in the big east but hindsight is 20/20

Big East football was trash, but once these schools started making moves that were solely by television rights and football, this was always the end game.
The Big 10 and SEC will scalp the state schools plus Miami and that will be that. Whatever left behind conference there is will be as irrelevant as the Big East is now.

WVU was one of the best programs in the country during the Pat White era before they moved from the Big East to the Big 12. Better than all the schools you named.
