what the hell is duke ranked 5 for? as much as i hate UNC if duke is suppose to be there biggest threat for the ACC they are going to run away with it ant nothing im seen should scare anyone
Now I'm not saying that Duke is on UNC's level but lets put this %%%! into perspective and examine last year.
I'll say this once and you may think I'm crazy for saying it but the ACC last year was gift wrapped for UNC.
They won the league by one game over Duke. Clemson GAVE UNC not 1, but 2 GAMES! The way they handed the game over to UNC was worse than Memphis faltering toKansas in the NC. Georgia Tech basically handed them the game in Atlanta as well. You do the math.
Now take into account that Duke is a better team from last year IMO. UNC may be a better team as well but how much better can they possibly have gotten? Theleague has gotten better too, in the form of Miami and Wake improving and Clemson remaining a player, so it's not out of the ordinary to think that UNCcould lose some games they're supposed to win (see Maryland last year). It's also not out of the ordinary to think that Duke, Miami, or Wake could winthe ACC as well. And who knows when UNC will hit their stride due to their various injuries. They could lose some early ACC games that could cost them.
Creighton proves once again that it is one of the most-followed programs with its loyal fan base. The Bluejays beat Central Missouri in an exhibition game Sunday in front of 15,038 fans in Omaha. Just think about that for a minute. There are plenty of high-major programs that would beg for numbers like that in the regular season, let alone for a Sunday exhibition in early November.
Yea but that's because there ain't #%*% to do in Omaha, let alone the entire state of Nebraska. Only reason I know about Omaha is cause Tommy andSincere was out there movin' weight with that work up under the Benz' bumper

Lucas lists UK
Former Florida guard Jai Lucas included Kentucky among the schools that can receive his academic transcript, his father said.
John Lucas said there were two factors that made UK a viable option:
■ The distance from the player's home in Houston. "It's closer there than Florida," the elder Lucas said.
■ Jai Lucas sees Kentucky as a place where he can fulfill his desire to be a team's primary ball handler and floor leader.
"He wants to go ... where he can have a lot more ball-handling responsibility," John Lucas said.
Jai Lucas made no secret that becoming the junior partner to Nick Calathes in the point guard duties at Florida led to his decision to transfer.
Tyler Hansbrough unanimously selected All-Everything
IMAGINATIONLAND, NC -- On the heels of his historic unanimous selection to the AP preseason All-American team -- in which he received one vote from every single one of 72 voters -- and his team's unanimous No. 1 preseason ranking, Tyler Hansbrough was selected Monday to the NBA All-Star Team and the Baseball and Football Halls of Fame, the Real World/Road Rules veterans squad, Survivor All-Stars, and as #++* Vitale's first ever lifetime captain of the P-T-P'ers.
He was also awarded top honors on every Bravo game show, including Top Chef and Project Runway; was given the Pulitzer and Nobel Prizes for "Excellence in Basketball"; received the McArthur Genius Grant; and was elected, in a last-minute runoff landslide, to the Presidency of the United States of America.
President Hansbrough's 2008 dunk over UNC-Asheville's Kenny George will be preserved in the Museum of The Moving Image, among countless other honors. Hansbrough was also nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture About Basketball.
Saying he was "totally psyched" about "being president and stuff," Hansbrough accepted every award in the history of mankind today, the unanimity with which the awards were presented trumped only by the benefactors' enthuasiasm.

"OH MY GOD," ESPN senior basketball analyst #++* Vitale said. "MY HEART IS LITERALLY EXPLODING OUT OF MY CHEST, BAYBEE, WITH PRIDE AT THIS KID TYLER! DID YOU SEE HOW HARD HE ACCEPTED THAT AWARD, THE AMOUNT OF HEART HE PUT INTO REFINING HIS THESIS FOR THE GENIUS GRANT PRESENTATION CEREMONY! HE IS ONE OF MY C.O. GUYS, THE CHOSEN ONE, AND I MEAN THAT NOT LIKE LEBRON BUT LITERALLY LIKE CHOSEN BY GOD. HE'S ALSO A P-T-P'ER! BAYBEE!"
Project Runway host Tim Gunn delivered a now-famous speech at the show's finale, which lauded Hansbrough's gruff appearance and "courageous" style as vital to his success. Gunn urged Hansbrough to continue to "make it work."
Hansbrough is currently recovering from a shin injury that should sideline him for a few weeks. His shin was named "Awesomest Shin Ever" by the North Carolina University Hospital medical staff. Hansbrough will accept their award in a ceremony tomorrow.
