The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

lol I was confused as to what that meant

Mma tomorrow with Ariel should be lit. Want to hear Mike Goldberg! So happy he's making an appearance

Hopefully woodley makes some better arguments

didn't notice the "tapping", but you can tell Chael had zero top pressure on him. If you wrestle or train BJJ, you'd know to keep pressure on your opponent if you have that position.

Chael was closer to finishing the d'arce than Tito was to finishing the RNC. Tito's angle was off and Chael's chin was tucked

Funny I saw that tap of Tito live when they were fighting and thought he really tapped out. Early loss. Guess I didn't notice him chance position at the time but watching it back it all makes sense. Not sure how you guys gonna deny seeing that in the video

You can still finish the RNC from that position since it turns into a caretoid choke rather than a trachea. See: condit vs Maia

Jorge went to Denver early to acclimate. Great choice. Cowboy will no doubt use his kicks, and he's going to need it. Masivdal probably has better boxing so you don't want this to be a Nate Diaz 2.0. Granted Cowboy was fighting emotional and is more evolved today, but Jorge's durability and all around skill, especially his boxing, make him a very dangerous match up for Cowboy

I seriously am leaning Jorge right now but Cowboy has so many tools

Ngannou is SCARY. I am nervous for AA but at least AA seems hungry and dedicated to one last run. Can't go into a fight with Ngannou half assed. I can't believe Ngannou is human tbh. Would love to see him in a title fight some day

Was worried about the altitude. And it's 5 rds? Very good call.

Hell of a matchup. As much as I'm a fan of Cowboy's, hope Jorge gets the W.

Sterling/Assuncao is also on the prelims.

That's right, I heard about this. The up and coming Travis Browne was really fun to watch

I hope he found his heart again, lately he honestly looks like he doesn't care at all

Tbh his time has passed, Bigfoot took his soul, hasnt been the same since. Chin is shot too

I wouldn't count him out yet. Although he's looked absolutely lethargic since starting his stint with Edmond, he has shown flashes of that guy when he was climbing the ranks.

Also, has he not 'looked the same' since Bigfoot? Granted he lost.....spectacularly. :lol But that was 2012. He's had several notable wins and fights since then.

Man, reviewing AA's resume, to see the names he's battled is somewhat disturbing. He's battled some of the best talent from yester-year, to today and now he's fighting perhaps the future at HW in Ngannu. INSANE.. like 3 generations of evolution at the HW division

Yea really amazing looking at who he has fought and that his first pro fight was in 99'. This will be a tough upcoming fight, I'd say he has a puncher's chance but I think Ngannou pulls this one off and potentially puts AA into retirement.

Heck of a card this weekend, strange they put Caceres in the main slot when there is Marquadt/Alvey and Assuncao/Sterling on the prelims.

Puzzled by this as well. Is the guy Caceres is fighting a hot prospect? He's got a decent record.

I'll watch 'em all either way.

But the Fox card could have been a great look for Aljamain who is a talented and marketable young fighter.

And if Assuncao wins he's right back in the hunt at BW.

Ariel going off on folks who said the Tito fight was fixed. He called out Dan Hardy too... the Hardy tweet surprised me tbh

Lol, seems to be polarizing topic

Can't wait for these interviews today...

All for ratings. Bruce LeeRoy flashy as hell.

Makes sense.

I still remember when Fedor gave him the fade
My first ever live event

You could make the argument that AA is one of this generation's most warrior like human being on planet Earth. He's fought everyone. Even Rumble for Christ sake

That fight is why I kinda want Rumble to maybe try HW.

With Cain gone, Werdum is really the only submission threat I can think of. Everyone else would stand and trade.

Not sure what Rumble walks around at now. Gotta figure HW's don't cut and Miocic is listed at 240 with only a slight height and reach advantage.

Wouldn't mind seeing it.

I've always said Jon Jones could've easily went up to HW and won the title.  Hopefully he'll still do it

Hell yeah. Rumble could easily compete at HW IMO. I Also hope Jon still moves up at some point

Yair said he had a severe MCL injury (or LCL) something with the knee, in training, where he almost pulled out. He couldn't do anything except box until 2 weeks before the fight. That's why he was so emotional after the win. He said BJ still hits hard. Yair says he's trained with Llamas and Cub and they are friends but he's ready for anything. He knows he will be champ

At some point down the road, Max vs Yair would be nuts
