The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

As far as Topuria at 155, I’m still a little anxious about that. It’s a shame he can’t get his weight in orderr
Yeah, at first I said 155 would probably be best for him. But after looking in to it nah he needs to get his diet in order. Didn't realize his reach was only 67 inches. That's on the short end even for FW.

The contrast of Topuria going up to 155 and Hooker going down to 145 on the same card is :wow:

Either would be perfect match making

Not quite as sure what to make of Shore, he's gritty for sure, seems pretty well rounded. Need more proof on him for sure

Izzy reaction videos are always good lol

He was blaming the ref for an early stoppage on the Hooker fight. Look like he realized it shortly after though lol

Izzy's boys were clowning Till for getting in the cage and said "he hasn't won in a while, let him enjoy it"

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

They wrong for that

Dan needs to hang it up and focus on his gym and coaching the next gen of fighters in NZ man...The dude likely will never get a title shot and only seems to be on the decline after being in some wars.

Even though Topuria(or maybe Jai) was a late replacement, It's a shame what they did to the kid. I was so high on him coming out of CW. One of my favorite guys to watch. Hope he can find a way to put it all together but his confidence might be shot. That KO was nasty. Went straight to sleep off that hook.
I just seen Trinaldo also missed weight at 160 lbs

Worst fortune for Herbert

Arnold Allen mincing no words... having sparred him yea hes the best haha

Told yall Leon is coming. "They" are gunna be so mad a balding, soft spoken, black brit with a slight lisp, and no interest in fame is going to be running ****.

I think Kamarus knees are worse than people think and the speed will be too much. Cant close the distance and jus gets outpointed going away.

Few of us have been riding with Leon for a long long time, dating back to the pre-3 piece and a soda thing

I just want him to start being more assertive, a lil more aggressive. Seize the openings that he creates

Him becoming champ would be cool. Him fighting passive and not ever going for finishes in title fights would be <

I know some of y'all already ***** about Izzy. So I'm sure they wouldn't want another champ point fighting

That's actually why I rock with Leon, he handles his business in the cage and doesn't do a lot of extras, I respect it. My main issue with Leon though is if he let 2021 Nate Diaz nearly stop him at the last second then how successful of a title reign could he actually have? Even if he manages to get past Usman, that's not a great look.

But with that said I like him as possibly an interesting style matchup for Usman at this stage, and yeah I do think Usman is just trying to hold off his body breaking down, it's just a matter of time. I remember hearing Francis explaining that he got the motivation not to pull out of his last fight with the knee injury because he'd seen how bad Usman has looked in the weeks leading up to some of his fights, that says a lot. Eventually he's not gonna be able to overcome whatever it is he's dealing with.

If Khamzat somehow doesn't pan out and Leon can deal with Usman and Colby's wrestling then who knows, maybe he could actually have a title run. It's definitely not the most probable outcome in my eyes but I'd love to see the guy pull it off. Temporarily at least. I'll definitely turn on him like Vincent Van Goat Vincent Van Goat said if the fights are too boring. The rules are the rules

I've said it multiple times now, unless Usman is losing motivation then he should beat Leon. He's been developing his stand up quite a bit too

But I hear you guys saying Usman's body also might be becoming an issue. I didn't see any obvious wear and tear recently but you just never know with these guys, especially Usman who had a grinding style coming up

imo this version of prime Leon isn't beating the prime Usman that went on that run. I don't see it

But again this is an older, more aged/worn Usman. Such is the nature of MMA so the younger lion could certainly take it

Shore going to end as the best of the bunch from yesterday. Confident in saying he'll contend one day.

Just watched Topuria's interview, he said he plans to compete at both 145 and 155. Nah man, just choose one and stick with it bro

Id love to see Leon whoop Colby ***...

I jus think stylistically hes a nightmare for anyone at this stage. Gunnar Nelson had nothing for Leon... after taking him to the mat in the first minute Leon posts. Reverses and never looks back. Obv he cant outwrestle Usman but if he can stay off the cage and get up if he does go down.... usman gunna be hestitant to go for body locks with Leons elbow work. Hes too slow for doubkes and high crotches. I think the ONLY way usman wins is the way he beat Jorge the first time....

Wild to say about the most dominant champ jus how i see it. Hes just so strong for a counter/finesse fighter ppl arnt gunna wanna engage. His fights will always be "boring"

I think Leon has a great chance against Usman.
People forget Usman was looking real exposed against Colby in the 4th and 5th in their rematch, and I think Leon beats Colby

Completely diff fighters but Colby def gave Usman a handful

Colby v Leon would be interesting cuz Colby has no power but his motor don't stop

Usman leon rematch will be interesting. I think it’ll be closer this time with usman being in danger a couple times. But he has the best wrestling and enough jabs to neutralize any forward striker. I expect usman to lay on edwards against the fence for most of the fight, similar to his fight against the Valhalla. Plus man’s knees are compromised so he’ll definitely need to dictate the distance against leon.

Usman will definitely swallow his pride this fight and stick to what he knows best.

I’m hoping khamzat beats burns so he gets catapulted to the top. We need some fresh faces in the contender scene, usman has beat everyone.
