The NBA Draft Thread

Can someone fill me in on the cliffnote version of Saric's situation? I never cared enough to look up what his deal was. Why couldn't he have come over immediately like KPorzee? Whats the rule there

Regarding Buddy: Damn, they making the point that high usage prospects don't translate well to the NBA. Is that true generally? I see the point they're making overall, in that he won't be the focal point of an offense. I like how they differentiated JJ Reddick and Buddy, they aren't the same type of players at all

The dude is questioning if Buddy is even starter material.... yikes

When I think about it, honestly I would take Denzel over Buddy if I'm cool with his knee.

They both are elite shooters but Denzel is way more versatile on offense and has a higher ceiling.

I love Buddy but he tops out as a high level specialist which is great but you probably don't want him as your second option or secondary ball handler.

The last podcast PMatic posted, the scout or whoever it was outright said he'd take Valentine over Buddy just based off the versatility

I would probably have to agree tbh

Buddy will go higher strictly off of recognition and a clean bill of health but Valentine is the better pro to me.

Signed a deal in Europe before the draft. Buy out was too large plus Sixers were tanking anyway so they didn't mind. Now the thinking is if he stays another year, his NBA contract would avoid the rookie scale.

Jesus

Guy was saying he could see Ingram playing a bit at the 2 as well

I'm all for it, although it would mean trading Okafor...

Okafor is absolutely gone this summer. Noel would be the guy to keep as a good backup plan if something happens to Embiid again.

Draft day can't come soon enough :{

As a Sixers fan, this is bigger than the NBA Finals for me.

We all know the Sixers will pick Simmons at #1. The interesting storylines is knowing the Jah/ Noel will either get traded on draft night or mid November/ December.

I honestly think the Wolves will be better off keeping the Pick. If someone like Bender falls into their laps, he will be the perfect 3rd option for them. Watching that video made me realize that either Boston or the Wolves will his style of play.

Boston is super interesting as they seem to have unlimited options, I hope they don't give 70% effort for each pitch where they end up with nothing.

I see Teague being moved on draft day (hopefully NOT the the Sixers)

Lakers are the only team that knows exactly what to do. Draft Ingram/ Simmons, get rid of Young and Match the offer for Jordan Clarkson. Both the draft the Free agent situation are reactive rather than proactive.

I hope Dunn somehow falls to the Pelicans. Seems to be a great fit there and he has strategically avoided working out for clubs that he doesn't fit into.

I have a feeling Buddy Heild will fall but will then make everyone who skipped out on him regret the decision.

I just don't see the point in trading Oak away after 1 year but oh well

Also, I don't think it's a lock for Simmons to go 1, but most likely the pick right now

If Jah's stock dropped because he is playing alongside another Center, where do you think his stock will go playing alongside TWO Centers?

There just is no benefit to anyone keeping three Centers on the team. Everybody literally loses, Jah, Embiid, Noel, Simmons, Saric and the Org. The only winners will be the team that trades for him for a lower value deal.

Except we don't know about Embiid's health and you're going to need to pair Okafor with a defensive big (oh wow, you already have Noel) anyway, so I don't know where this logic is leading?

I would take nothing less than the #3 pick for Okafor if I had to trade him away

I guess I see your perspective since you're deadset on taking Simmons. In my eyes, Ingram is still an option though, just from my perspective which leaves me a bit bullish on trading Oak after just 1 year

76ers line up

PG- Simmons
Sg- Saric
Sf- Jah
Pf - Narlenz
C - Embiid

Have no idea what saric is, assuming euro shooter?

6'10 and up lineup.

What was the Jazz lineup that had crazy height?

Saric is a 6'10 point forward PF/SF with a streaky jumpshot.

Trading Okafor makes sense because even if Embiid flops they still have Noel. The Sixers have 0 guards. Have to add to that area somehow.
