The NBA Draft Thread

I say the Lakers keep the pick and draft Ingram. Trade Randle to the Celtics for #3 pick and draft Buddy Hield. Re-sign Clarkson, sign Whiteside, sign Horford, sign Harrison Barnes, draft a big with your second round pick and call it a day. You get a competitive team good enough to battle for the last 3 playoff seeds in the West and if Russell don't work out, you can sign Westbrook in 2017.

PG: Russell
SG: Hield
SG: Ingram
PF: Horford
C:  Whiteside

Bench:
Clarkson
Barnes
Nance
Huertas
Black
Draft Pick

Bruh.....no.

awwsome swears everyone in the league is gonna flourish :lol

wish we all had that kind of optimism

Idk man, I be getting excited about prospects man, the future is tantalizing. :lol

It doesn't always work out but most guys I've rocked with early have all done well.

Shouts to my guys Anthony Bennett and Noah Vonleh though. :{

But real talk besides all the immature snap chat **** boy ****, D'angelo is a player.

All he needs is time on the court and the weight room and keep putting talent around him.

He shot it really well from 3 post AS break, he's also just a natural playmaker running the offense.

Ingram and signing Whiteside would be amazing for him, he would flourish immediately under Walton.
I wouldn't trust putting Whiteside with those young kids and those LA streets. Nah Bruh.

One of the reasons I worry about Simmons, who I know this is about since he was in that suite with them that night and Ingram wasn't.......he acts like he's too cool/too good for everybody around him. His attitude and demeanor is not going to sell himself very well to a fan base in Philly of all places.

he's seems to have basically always been like this. bunch of stories about him behind the scenes. even back when he played for Australia U16 and 17 teams.

Then you see the way the LSU just laid down like dogs, zero fight, no chemistry. :x

He's too talented not to take 1 but I will never be able to shake all the things that bug me about hi,

What stories have you heard about him from when he was younger?

What stories have you heard about him from when he was younger?

nothing specific but following his rise, and watching FIBA tournaments, there were always "he's alouf, too cool for school" rumblings, and rumors of bad feelings between him and Australia basketball

Doesn't mean he's a bad person, but it's clear he has a ways to go when it comes to being a leader.

Kris Dunn joins The Vertical Podcast

Providence guard Kris Dunn – one of the top picks in the 2016 NBA Draft – joins Adrian Wojnarowski on The Vertical Podcast. Dunn and Woj discuss Dunn’s harrowing journey from a young child conspiring with his brother to evade child services and live alone together while their mother was incarcerated. With great emotion and excruciating detail, Dunn lays out how he had to gamble on pick-up basketball games and play cards to earn money around his housing project – all until his father finally located his kids and brought them to live with him. From that horrific start in life, Dunn transformed himself into an All-American player, a college graduate and now the No. 1-rated point guard in the June 23 NBA Draft.

If I had that optimism, I'd believe in Doug McDermott much more.

Also guys with Kris Dunn's and Demetrius Jackson's background makes me believe that they will succeed in the League.

Podcast: Jonathan Givony on the Jody Mac Show (CBS Sports Radio)

An 17 minute interview segment on the Jody Mac Show (CBS Sports Radio) breaking down the latest 2016 NBA Draft storylines.

Listen Here

Topics Discussed

-Previewing the 2016 NBA Draft
-How much has our mock draft changed in the last 12 months?
-Why there is such little consensus about prospects 11-40 and why that will make for a very interesting night at the NBA Draft
-Marquese Chriss - what type of NBA prospect is he, how has he elevated his stock so much?
-The percentage chance that Ben Simmons goes #1.
-Why are people saying that Brandon Ingram might not be the Lakers pick at #2?
-Which players have dropped down the draft board in recent weeks, and why?
-Skal Labissiere. Where does he sit on Thursday night?
-Which European players will end up in the lottery and beyond?
-How much did Cheick Diallo hurt his draft stock this year, and was he able to recover from that during the pre-draft process?
-Where will Thon Maker end up being drafted? What kind of prospect is he?
-Why isn't Ben Bentil in the first round on our mock draft?

Simmons seems like that type of dude that feels like his talent makes it so he doesn't have to give 100%. He definitely checked out during repeatedly last season at LSU. A team with him and some decent supporting pieces shouldn't have been NIT bound.

Draft and Olympics up next....

Read that Utah could be trading down

NBADRAFT.net finally put Baldwin in the first round

Draftexpress and draft.net have Furkan dropping rapidly

Man If the Raptors could trade up for Bender or down for Furkan that would be ideal.

Down for Furkan seems like it would be easier to do, especially with Celts/Suns/Nuggets all with multiple picks in his range.

I wonder if the FO is even thinking about him considering they trying to resign DeRozan and already have Powell.
