The NBA Draft Thread

I think Ben averages something like 18/8/6 and walks away with ROTY.

I don't see that at all, when was the last time a rookie put those #'s up? And we've seen a good amount of them more talented than Simmons.

I think 14/7/5 on 45% shooting and 29% from 3 is more likely.

Nobody talkin about Kris Dunn. He probably got the most killer instinct than any player in the draft. If Lakers deal Russell for another top five pick, I wouldn't be surprised if they wind up with Dunn and Ingram.

I really still don't think it's a lock the Sixers take Simmons. It would be a shocker if they don't but I really don't think they've came to a 100% conclusion on who they're taking at this moment.

I would rather trade Okafor for 3 and get Ingram/Dunn if possible than draft Simmons personally.

MCW put up 17/6/6. Don't think it's that far-fetched to be honest. Doesn't happen a ton because there aren't a ton of players out there with the size and skill set that lend itself to those kind of numbers.

FWIW.....Simmons has liked just about every post on Twitter of Sixers fans saying good luck to him on the Sixers for the past few days.

Dragan Bender could be a tall Draymond Green, but are you willing to take a non go to player with a top 3 pick?

I want Dragan on the Raptors so bad, but it won't happen. :{

Hornets trying to move up. Jazz could be an interesting trade partner.

Milwaukee gonna have to attach their pick to get rid of Monroe

Bender got the grit like Green does? I'm pretty sure at the same age, Green was at the very least a scrappy player. Bender is like that? I thought he was more finesse

After Simmons and Ingram, there are no go to players. Hell, those two guys may not even be go to players, they may be 2nd options (I guess this could still mean they are go to)

He'll never be Draymond strictly for the fact that he will never be that strong/explosive type of athlete, beyond that the skill set is similar but yea, still not the best comparison

Chad Ford said on David Locke's podcast that Bender is not on Celtics top 3 list.

If that's true then I hope they are just tying to trade the pick because that's stupid.

So trade Russell for a lesser player who is 2 years older. And has a lower ceiling.

Yeah that makes plenty of sense.

First; Daymond isn't exactly an explosive athlete. :lol

Second of all, Draymond may jump higher, but Bender's reach is way longer making them functionally comparable.

I'm not saying that they are 100% carbon copies, but Dragan's ceiling should be a Draymond type of role.

- elite passer
- ability to switch onto perimeter players.
- solid rim protection
- grab and go ball handling
- good 3 point shooters.
- decent post game.

Draymond Green is Dragans future if everything goes right.

Draymond is definitely explosive now and his frame was built to get to where he is with the proper training, Bender just doesn't have a similar frame, center of gravity or lower body strength that he has/had even when he was a fat kid coming out of Michigan State.

Agree with all the other stuff though, I'd even be willing to say Bender is farther along at the same age especially ball skills wise.
