The NBA Draft Thread

This draft reminds me of the 2005 nba draft PG wise. There's gonna be a CP3, some Deron Williams, and a Raymond Felton.

Only thing different is that all these guys are freshmen.

What don't you see with Fox? Incredibly quick and athletic, very good defender and very good passer. 3 point percentage is trash but his mechanics aren't bad, IMO. He's a pretty good foul shooter, so I don't see why he couldn't potentially become an average 3pt shooter at some point. He checks off enough boxes to be drafted in the top 10 and has a crazy high ceiling if he can even become an average shooter.

It's not that I don't like Fox, I really like him as a prospect. It's the fit. it's mainly because they are invested in muddy and Murray along with Harris. Their wings are not part of their future and if they decide to draft out of need, they should go another direction. But if they do draft the best available talent then I agree that it's Fox. I've only seen highlights and analysis videos but I liked what I've seen.

Think you guys are crazy, I think J. Issac is the goods.

Should be a prototypical stretch 4 who can hit the three at an above average clip, play guard 3+ positions and make some plays.

Having seen him in person, he's really close to 7' feet.

I'd also bet again Fox ever becoming a competent shooter. For him to succeed would need to end up a team that had a lot of shooters. Knicks would actually be a great fit for him cause KP plays on the perimeter and could open up the rim for him.

@RobDauster Fun stat: Lonzo Ball has 96 FGs this season. He's hit 46 threes and 49 twos at the rim. He has one FG that's not a three, layup or dunk.
See man, this is very questionable to me and worries me a bit about his ceiling at the next level...That is a crazy stat.

Honestly, he seems like a bigger Brandon Ingram to me, and IMO, that is a good prospect.

Man if this kid Issac goes #4

I'm calling now, his game won't translate to the league. He looks the part.

Tony Snell
hell at least tony can guard the wing, who is he gonna guard?
One of the things Issacs does best right now is play defense actually ...his versatility of checking guys on the perimeter and still protecting the rim is what's adding to his value along with his jumper ...he's like a 7 footer who's playing inside/outside not hard to see why the scouts like him :lol

not for my mavs tho we need to start with pg first dwill is a back up for a contender at this point hopefully we land Fultz or Ball  but the way we grabbin wins now we might still be trying for the 8th spot smh Cuban will never learn

Absolutely perfect stat for todays NBA. Usually if you're a good 3pt shooter, the mid range pull up is an easy shot for you. Idk how he good he is in the PnR though.

Jon Isaac is the GOODS.

Top 5 sounds about right. If he slips past there....he's a steal. Dude is 6'11....close to 7 feet and is a really good defender. Showing toughness on the glass too.

Isaacs ability to stretch the floor...switch out on the perimter and protect the rim is SCARY. Dude is one of the biggest reasons for FSU's great season so far.

You didn't peep the game against UNC? Or how about when my dog met Tatum and the summit and sent that ****

I was at this game and was on the sidelines during warmups and this man is nice as hell and looked like a legit 7 footer that could handle and pull-up like a shooting guard.

In theory, this is absolutely correct. Any time I see him in the PnR, I've seen him pass. I have never seen him shoot. Now I'm not saying he can't do it, but he has literally displayed zero mid-range game, and that is something that every star guard has.

I haven't seen any of Ball's game but I've watched this comparison video to a coach I like to follow:

Even J Kidd had zero mid range game (hence the Ason Kidd nickname) and he turned out quite alright.

Y'all the main two I was talking to. Calling it now, kid won't do anything in the league. Quote and save that fellas. Jump shot shaky as hell. So who does he guard in the league on a nightly bases? Y'all sending him out there to guard the 4 every night?

Duly noted 8o

He can guard 3's and 4's. Lateral quickness and length to guard the perimter.

He'll put on some lbs and guard the 4 in due time

I don't know how anyone can feel confident who's going to be the best player out of any of these guys, so many of these guys have sky high ceilings,

Issac, Ball, Markken, Fox, Monk, ect

Predicting which guy hits their ceiling feels impossible to know.
