The NBA Draft Thread

Is it a coincidence that the Sixers have won 5 of 6 games with Jah out and Noel in the rotation?

Also with the Wolves winning three in a row and Sixers winning, it looks like Fultz will go to Boston. :{
Boston adding Harden 2.0 :smokin :smokin :smokin

And not only that, you also have a very realistic chance for the #1 in 2018 :x

What would you do though? Bank on the assets and get a bonafide star to compete against Bron and the Warriors? Or be mediocre now and organically build a championship team in 5 years time?

With that said, there is still a chance to nab Gordon Hayward in free agency so you may be able to compete now and compete in the future...this is a very critical year for Boston.

I honestly don't think it's worth moving the assets because I don't think adding anyone other than like Anthony Davis is going to make us a better team than Cleveland or Golden State for the next few years. I definitely wouldn't call what they are now mediocre by any means. They are going to win 50+ games and are a top 3 team in the East. If they hit on these next 2 drafts, and the guys are studs, I think they could be an actual title contender in 2019 or so and on from there.

I'd love Hayward but don't see him leaving money on the table and going anywhere.

I guess mediocre is too harsh. But they are third tier.

you can Tier 1 contenders in Warriors, Cleveland and Spurs. Then Tier 2 with the Clippers, Memphis and Houston. Then you got tier 3 with Toronto, Boston and Utah. Getting another star can put them in the tier 2 conversation but you're right, it will be very difficult to become a contender over the summer. It's something that will take a couple of years to build.

Easily. Biggest robbery ever. Billy King has to be blackballed from the NBA after that one lol

Billy was told to do the trade by the Russian in charge. He should've quit right then and there.

Billy was a yes man but he orchestrated the deal. the Russian gave him the go signal to win now no matter the cost, but Billy is the one who moved this forward. He deserves 100% of the blame in that trade.

Not a lot of people called that Nets-Celtics trade a robbery for the Celtics when it happened.

And yah the Russians had their hand in that thing too. His boss gave him marching orders and he followed them. They all made too many panic moves. Only thing the Russians got right was the hiring of Kidd, who turned out to be a good coach.

As a Nets fan, I'd like Lopez traded for a 2017 1st rounder

It really seems like the Cavs straight up ignored all his downfalls. How can you have such a valuable asset (#1 pick) and treat it like that? :{

This further justifies LeBron leaving to Miami to learn how a winning organization functions.

Also, new mock draft: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...raft-the-top-30-as-seasons-second-half-begins

1. Bos: Fultz (still can't get over this :{ )
2. Miami: Ball
3. Philly: Dennis Smith
4. Dallas: Isaac
5. Suns: Josh Jackson
6. Philly: Monk
7. Minny: Markannen???
8. Pels: Tatum
9. Denver: Fox (I don't see it)
10. Sac: Ntilikina
11. Orlando: Rabb
12. NYC: Isaiah Hartenstein
13. DET: Miles Bridges
14. Hornets: Giles
15: Blazers: Patton

----------------------------

I don't mind Smith in Philly even though I personally don't like PGs who rely on their athleticism as their main selling point. But having Simmons to play PG, I can see it happening.

Giles's stock really took a hit, from #1 to 14 :x has he done nothing this season to prove his worth? Maybe he should stay another year. But he does fall to the Hornets, that's a player with a high cieling joining an unselfish playoff team.

I don't see Fox in Denver at all.

It's depressing to see Giles, hist athleticism and mobility have def taken a hit.

Hopefully he can get it back, but it's been 3 knee surgeries. :{

If I remember correctly Byron Scott was high on Waiters, and Mike Brown was high on Bennett. :lol Brown really had the nerve to play him at SF too.

Moheezy Moheezy

What don't you see with Fox? Incredibly quick and athletic, very good defender and very good passer. 3 point percentage is trash but his mechanics aren't bad, IMO. He's a pretty good foul shooter, so I don't see why he couldn't potentially become an average 3pt shooter at some point. He checks off enough boxes to be drafted in the top 10 and has a crazy high ceiling if he can even become an average shooter.

I reeeeeeally like Fox, but PGs that can't shoot are a death knell for a team. Granted I'm sure he'll improve with age.

I hear you and agree. At #9 though it's pretty solid value over for the tools he already has and potential. Don't see how it makes any sense for Denver in particular to take him though :lol

I would want my PGs to play defense and hit the 3, but Fox might be my favorite PG in this class. I think he'll eventually develop a consistent 3 ball.
