The NBA Draft Thread

Boston, Cleveland, Washington, Toronto and Milaukee are safe bets barring any changes in Toronto's lineup.

That leaves three spots for the playoff race. Indian, Atlanta and Chicago have heavily regressed. Looking at the lineups as they are today, i'd say it will be a five team battle between Atlanta, Charlotte, Philly, Miami and Detroit.

East gonna be so damn weak

It's always been bro.

Got even weaker now with the 2nd best player in the conference going out West.

Not ready to crown Giannis. Not because he's not there talent wise, solely because it's only been one year. He's the only person in the conversation with Wall though. PG and Butler are not on his level.

Ummm you could say the same for Wall who just took that next step offensively this year. And his defense regressed. PG is a multiple time All NBA and All Defensive player while Jimmy is a multiple time All defense player.

Wall is my Favorite PG and Butler now plays for my favorite team, but Giannis talent is generational (Like LeBron)

Wall was 18ppg and 9apg for the previous three seasons before this year, so it's not like he was a slouch offensively. He's also made an all NBA defensive team before. Looking at the past two seasons Giannis is clearly better than Jimmy imo. And it's nip tuck between him and PG13. IMO he was clearly not the second best player in the East.

Jimmy last year 21/5/5
Jimmy this year 24/6/6

Giannis last year 17/8/4
Giannis this year 23/9/5

Greek freak definitely wasn't better last year.

And Wall made ONE all defensive team and that was 2 seasons ago.

As of now it's Giannis/PG and then Wall.

He averaged 20 last year as well. Wall has accounted for more points than both of them for multiple seasons, while giving you the same production defensively, and has done so with less help/piss poor management. There's one player in the East that does more for his team than John... His name is LeBron James. John is better than both. This year just solidified that.

Really gonna sit here and say Wall in the same league as Butler defensively?

Making all defense =/= being the best defensive player. John is battling Chris Paul (who will almost always make it), Pat Beverly, Avery, etc. Yes, he's just as good defensively. He not only gets more steals, he's a better rim protector...as a point guard. It's almost like, you've never watched him play.

Wall has never finished top 10 in the league in defensive win shares nor defensive rating (both PG and Jimmy have). Chris Paul has actually finished in the top 10 of those as well. And using steals as a measure of being a great defender. Allen Iverson would like to have a word with you.
